The Zappateers have added a new page to list orphaned torrents,
that is torrents that need seeders.

Please check it often and help your fellow Zappateers to complete their downloads.
You will also do a favour to your share ratio!

Thank you.

Thanks!
The page we wish wouldn't exist Wink

A little note though:
You might on occasion find the list to be somewhat wrong/misleading.
You check one orphan in the list and you see there is no leecher when it says there is Question Question Question

That’s due to the 3 day delay that makes the "Will download" button in the tracker work,
and also if a user jumps off without cancelling his/her download after jumping off.

The delay was before set to 10 days but we figured 3 days would be enough (a weekend).
A shorter delay would render the button useless.

Is there a way to sort the Orphanz List (say by earliest to latest date?). It would help save some time matching requests. Thanks.

I think delus11 is on to something. In a word, OK, 2 words...chronological order.

As most shows follow naming conventions, a date order within each category will do fine too.

This will make me sound like a real dweeb - but how do I reopen torrents once I've removed them from my torrent client? I'm using Utorrent and have loads of completed items on my hard drive but I don't know how to re-open them. I've tried - and failed - in the past. hmm

Thanks clever people.

You just need to click on the torrent link again (as if you were downloading it) and save it to the location where it already exists. The torrent client will check the existing files, see they're all there, and start seeding.

HTH!

I have a couple of zappateers acc, how do I rectifie my abhorrent behavior and seed to my now improved band width name. Do I place the downloaded files in my transmission folder and download the torrent file and transmission should do the rest.
Thankyou and sorry but I feel like a kid in a candy store around here.

Yes, the XQJ-37 has a unique code written into the torrent file when you d/load it, so you need the torrent file that corresponds to the account you're using - When you reload the new torrent into Transmission it will automagically find the show files, hash check and start seeding.

PM me with the details of your old account nick so we can delete it Smile

Agreed. I know that I would check the Orphanz list more often if torrents were sorted alphabetically (either within each forum or overall)

Another suggestion: On the tracker page, shows that one has already downloaded appear in green. Could the same be done on the Orphanz page? This would be extremely useful.
