Here is volume 18! and the info text:

Frank Zappa GSW Project Vol. 18 1977 (T-1495)

This is Volume 18 in a very large collection of Frank Zappa spoken word releases. It's called the GSW Project.
GSW stands for Gigantic Spoken Word. There will be some music in there but there won't be any live concerts in the GSW Project.
They consist of radio interviews and journalist reporter type personal interviews. During the radio interviews sometimes music was
played as background or added before the broadcast in between questions and answers.

Sometimes FZ acts as D.J., plays records from his collection and talks to the radio audience.
But the main focus of this series is FZ interviews which to me is as interesting as his music.

Don't alter the sound of this recording. The T releases are not to be used as a source for anyones so called remastering projects.
If you want to do something find a better source recording and work from that. Don't just take what I have done and screw with it.

For Trade or Give Away only - Do not Sell - Do not encode as MP3 or any other format which degrades the quality of the recording.

May 17, 2006 T________

Well here we are at the end for now until new volumes are released. Two thousand downloads altogether between all the volumes or very close to it(probably more when all is said and done)so it looks like this subject matter was interesting to a lot of people.I'm hoping new volumes will be out soon so I can post them here.I will ask T____ about it and i'm sure he intends to continue with it to the end of the zappa interview years. So thank you all for your kind words but all the credit really goes to T____. You could always join the hub and thank him yourself :D If anyone is interested in joining send me an email rather than going to the website and sending a registration form because the submit button for the form doesn't work right now so I will not get the form if you try to send it.It doesn't always have to be what you can get out of it either, the hub is about sharing so even if you don't find tons of new zappa material that you might not have there its a great way to share your collections with other Zappa fans.We also share many other great bands as well and you can find anything from Slayer to Pink Floyd to just about any other band you can think of.If you send me an email I will send you a list of the music i'm personally sharing in the hub right now so you can get an idea of the kind of shares there are in the hub.

Enjoy!

you are aware of the fact that this material has been widely circulated, and at the beginning of the program FZ himself encourages people to get their cassette machines ready and tape it. Technically, nobody should claim any special rights to this material. It belongs to the people who taped it, copied it, and distributed it among themselves.

Nobody is claiming any special rights to it, T___ is claiming rights to "THE GSW PROJECT" if you want to complain do it to him or the admins.I'm only seeding this. You can get the material just like he did and make your own "GLOBUAL PROJECT".
he is probably not referring to the material contained but only the project as a whole and doesn't want anyone making a re-mastered version of GSW PROJECT.Why don't you take this up with him so I don't have to keep explaining to you that its not my project and its not up to me.I'm only seeding it and like in every release that I get, I respect the wishes expressed by the tapers or the people releasing the shows. You do what you gotta do but i'm not going to mess with it in any way whether it came from frank zappa himself directly to T___ or if its passed through 1000 hands before him.Someone here has already used a piece of one of these in another release and the way it was done doesn't seem like its going against what T___ has asked but if you are planning on doing anything with the material then I would start your own project and not try to modify these volumes that he has put together.I don't want to disrespect T___ by proxy.Read the statement at the end of the releases that T___ has put there then make your own judgement on whether you feel like you don't care about what he wants.I'm not gonna keep saying that it's not my release and I didn't have anything to do with putting it together so if you want answers or want to complain then do it to the right person.I'm gonna respect what he asked. I'm well aware of where shows come from and how they are distrubuted in the community.

Zappateers respects T___'s request, we have our own goals in mind, and not messing with this project is not in conflict with those goals, so not a problem. I don't speak for the administration, though they have made this point very clear. I'm just an advisor, though my advice is listened to, often implented, always considered. I'm happy with that position. It serves us all well.
Thanks for this project, very nice.
I think T__ should be asked about using stuff, that is just my opinion. I'm sure he would not object to how it was used, but just asking, doesn't hurt. Explain how it is going to be used. In this case to complete a much higher quality project, solely needed for historic reasons. To help preserve history. I feel as you do Honyak, though I didn't trade with him, a good friend did, so i have been enjoying T___'s recordings for over 30 years. About 4 years ago, I contacted him, and thanked him, explain how I heard his recordings. He probably doesn't remember, i'm sure many have done the same thing. His recordings were always well known to the tapers, like myself...
Hat's off to the gentleman from Texas.

Many thanks for seeding this in its entirety. Gigantic of you to do so. It is certainly going to take some time to get through all 39 discs. Hope there won't be a test any time too soon.

It won't be a flood like this, but I have put up a lot of material, mostly indirectly, though still from the collection. Berkely 80, Bremen 80. Santa Monica early 80, The UMRK 91 interview and 7 other interviews, 3 UMRK rehearsal sessions. Detroit 88 three days , 81 Detroit too, all masters. And Another is around the corner Meadowbrook 84. And lot's of other stuff, much more to come...
15 entrys under FZshows now on the tracker. So if you have been waiting you missed it!
31 entrys on the tracker, not counting the samples forum. 31 complete projects from my collection are on the tracker.
Well more really, only 31 under my name. The editors who prepped shows for us deserve credit, but so do I. Flambay, Unicrayon, and Taurus have all upped my shows too. Wow, it was a productive winter. I will try and make it 50 next winter, but I need the summer off, sorry, work is calling, nothing I can do...you will still see shows, though at a slower rate. i will speed it up next November, and REALLY make a push, promise...

Thank you Drew I feel the same and I believe he should be asked as well.He has been doing this for almost 40 years and is well established in the community as you said, so I wouldn't go against anything that he asks and I just enjoy his releases the way I recieve them.Although I don't do any editing or mastering of any recordings myself and am new to the zappa music collecting community if I did I would definitley have respect for everyone and I would certainly ask permission to use materials from someone elses work whether the material was owned by the community like globual stated or not.I know T___ works very hard on his releases and I wouldn't want to ruin my friendship with him for anything. He is a valuable part of the hub and was the very first person I thought of when I came up with the UMRK hub project. He helped me out a lot in the beginning and continues to do so.He is a nice guy so i'm sure if someone goes to him with an idea he would be either glad to help out with the actual work and contribute directly to it or at least give advice. If I had the skills that you do then I would definitely try to be a part of what's being done here but as of right now i'm just starting to learn how all this works.Maybe later on down the road someday I will have learned enough to come up with some projects of my own or join in on the work here.I'm very good at learning new things and what I don't know I teach myself.A year ago I had never even heard of a hub or Of DC++ but in that short time i've taught myself not only the client side of hubs but also have had two hubs of my own now and I know the ynhub software like the back of my hand.So i'm studying audio and video work whenever I have time and sooner or later i'll have the skills to be able to make an attempt, however feeble it may be,at my first project.
Thanks again Drew for understanding where i'm coming from Keep up the great work and i'm looking forward to the video project you mentioned and everything else from all you guys who do such awesome work here.

Turn up the volume!
