Here's volume #14 and the info text:

Frank Zappa GSW Project Vol. 14 1975 (T-1491)

This is Volume 14 in a very large collection of Frank Zappa spoken word releases. It's called the GSW Project. GSW stands for Gigantic Spoken Word. There will be some music in there but there won't be any live concerts in the GSW Project. They consist of radio interviews and journalist reporter type personal interviews. During the radio interviews sometimes music was played as background or added before the broadcast in between questions and answers. Sometimes FZ acts as D.J., plays records from his collection and talks to the radio audience.
But the main focus of this series is FZ interviews which to me is as interesting as his music.

Don't alter the sound of this recording. The T releases are not to be used as a source for anyones so called remastering projects. If you want to do something find a better source recording and work from that. Don't just take what I have done and screw with it.

For Trade or Give Away only - Do not Sell - Do not encode as MP3 or any other format which degrades the quality of the recording.

February 24, 2006 T________

Sorry I can't stay on all of these but I do wait until there's a lot of other seeders and only 1 or 2 leechers before i remove the previous one.I just don't have the upload bandwidth to have multiple torrents uploading and I also have to run the hub and have some speed for my upload slots there.

Enjoy!

thanks for sharing this material. Man, how I wish these tracks were named differently! In the end, when you import everything into your player, there will be well over a thousand tracks, all titled like this:

fz(GSW Vol 14) (T-1491) d1t01

which tells nothing. But instead we could have something like:

750423 Syracuse NY 01 FZ Reads Letter Outlining the Lecture

which tells you at a glance what you're listening to. See, the fact that the track quoted here happens to be the first track on disc1 of the volume 14 is irrelevant information. Any scholar or Zappa enthusiast wants to know three basic things about what they're listening to: 1) the date of the recording; 2) its location and/or radio station call; 3) track title (which indicates the content). With this kind of information you can search through a lot of material and quickly find what you're after. It's too bad that a project as valuable as this doesn't offer this kind of advantage.

fz(GSW Vol 14) (T-1491) d2t07.flac 5.05 MB - what happened to Roy Estrada & Ray Collins / Uncle Meat / Cal Schenkel

Isn't there a way you can edit the names like above into a copy to burn for listening and keep the original for sharing?

not exactly. We do have naming conventions/suggestions which you're welcome to browse at

http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2401

Please have a look and then you'll see what the file names WOULD look like if you followed these suggestions. Let me add that these are not arbitrary rules designed to upset everybody but rather are conventions that have evolved over a period of time, and as such they reflect what the most dedicated collectors here believe is best for everybody in the long run. If you think that these naming conventions suck, then explain why you think so. Suggestions how to improve things are always welcome.

Well this wasn't my project so it wasn't up to me to do any naming of tracks,i'm just seeding this. and i'm not expecting that it will be archived here because it will always be available in the hub and it doesn't fit conventions here for archiving purposes.

Thx for compiling, T________; thx for posting at zappateers, honyak45.

Of course it's fine following the naming conventions of the community whenever a new digital transfer is seeded for the first time. But renaming files of old and long time running torrents, which are widely distributed among collectors, just to meet zappateers naming conventions is bullshit; imho.

The admins did not stop posting "GSW Project" after a short discussion when it was started. So stop whining and complaining, globual. Why do you take it if you don't like it?

If anyone could please seed this torrent for a little while I'll be happy to continue seeding the entire GSW collection for the foreseeable future. Having a lot of trouble getting this last torrent (almost constantly stalled).

Thanks
