OK heres the whole volume in one torrent. For some reason its only 19KB this time and I used the same torrent making app.Not sure what I did wrong the first time but hopefully its ok this time.Heres the info text from vol. # 1 I haven't renamed any files, folders or tracks:

Frank Zappa 1967-1968 GSW Project Vol. 01 (T-1478)

This is the first Volume in a very large collection of Frank Zappa spoken word releases. It's called the GSW Project. GSW stands for Gigantic Spoken Word. There will be some music in there but there won't be any live concerts in the GSW Project. They consist of radio interviews and journalist reporter type personal interviews. During the radio interviews sometimes music was played as background or added before thebroadcast in between questions and answers. Sometimes FZ acts as D.J., plays records from his collection and talks to the radio audience.
But the main focus of this series is FZ interviews which to me is as interesting as his music.

Don't alter the sound of this recording. The T releases are not to be used as a source for anyones so called remastering projects. If you want to do something find a better source recording and work from that. Don't just take what I have done and screw with it.

For Trade or Give Away only - Do not Sell - Do not encode as MP3 or any other format which degrades the quality of the recording.

January 1, 2006 T________

Please respect T's wishes expressed above.

ENJOY!

Yes it seems to be a nice collection, though it doesn't really fit with our archiving aims, as it won't be searchable on the tracker like when unique recordings are seeded one by one... and the filenames don't help much unless you have the "cue card" to read from.

So should I seed the other 17 volumes or not?

You're welcome to do so, as they may very well contain upgrades to what we already have, and as T___ asked for them to be spread unaltered we should respect that.

My comment was rather reflecting my thought about archiving, as that's a main goal for us here. You may have noticed that torrents never expire on this tracker, and that you may ask for seeders on any show seeded for the last 2 years, and get people to open them up. That's what makes us unique, and what i mean by "archive", the original files are being kept by people all over the globe Smile

Now what about something like "hells sinking concept" video which is a compilation of a bunch of things just tosssed together with a bunch of polarization effects and stuff thrown on top(no offense raysynn) is that any different? I've just seeded the first volume like I recieved it from T___ and don't know about a cue card or anything like that and I'm not into changing anything about someone's work as T____ has expressed his wishes for it not to be done to any of his releases. If it's no good to seed then I won't seed the rest of it but it looks like people are very interested already in this first volume and there's a huge body of material in the other 17 volumes of these with some being 3 disc volumes. Just let me know if this is ok to continue. And if it is ok then whats the method for releasing the rest?Should I continue seeding the first one for a while or can I go ahead and start the next one now that there are like 17 or 18 seeders on this first volume?

I see that its ok to seed the rest now before i submitted this so ignore that question Very Happy

A lot of these shows are also being kept alive in UMRK my lossless Zappa hub so they can also be downloaded there.I believed I posted about the hub somewhere here at Zappateers.I'm trying to make as much material as I can get from Zappateers available in the hub also and several of the hub members are also members here.We have strict rules regarding no official material or lossy formats and also to not change file or folder names or anything about these shows. I appreciate you bringing these here. I just can't go on hubs and here. I'm hoping in about a year to increase bandwidth to be able to participate in the Zappa hub, and other hubs too. For now, I need to concentrate on mastering. A flood of my stuff soon...
If you torrent any of the T___ shows, they should be sampled first, as we may have better examples. Yojimbo's version, here of 9-10-72 Hollywood Bowl, is a better example then T___'s version, as an example. All shows should be sampled.
As a compromise, I think we could pull out superior interviews, and torrent alone. And keep those on tracker, in our format. Maybe let this mass expire. That way the seeding conventions remain etc. Yet excess room is not wasted. T___, the Zappa hub, can keep this alive. We don't need to, just a convenience for current users. Also it can always be reseeded. As a note, my interview collection is extensive, so before any are pulled out for single torrent, mine should be checked too.
T is around, and could be asked if it's ok, we do this too, get special permission. If he sees what we do here, he may very well like what he sees, or if presented well to him. He should not have a problem with it. We are seeking the best possible, nothing wrong with that.
He could join and look around, and see for himself, pointing to the samples forum, and how hard we work to make the recordings the best possible. pooling resources, and talent to put out the best, I'm sure he would want to be a part of that.

I'm pretty sure that T___ isn't going to want me to seed these if they will be separated then reseeded in pieces.Maybe I could put these on some discs and send them to someone for sampling and then if theres any that can still be seeded whole I could just seed those only.I don't have the knowledge to do the sampling myself nor do I have the other sources to compare them to.I have plenty of Taiyo Yuden silvers i could use to burn these to and I don't mind sending them off to someone responsible who could do the required sampling and comparing to other available sources.I mentioned zappateers to him before and he's so busy with all his mastering work and recording in his studio for bands and also being an op in a large hub besides mine that he doesn't really have the extra time.Just let me know what I should do and i'll stop seeding these if thats whats wanted.Or I can just continue seeding the rest. And I realize your time is better utilized here at zappateers and your contributions and hard work also benefit the hub so no problem and you know your always welcome Drew.A large percentage of the zappa shared in the hub comes from you guys and I really appreciate all your hard work.If it wasn't for you guys there wouldn't be half as many great shows to share in the hub.

I just got a new seagate 500 GB external in the mail this morning so i'm hungry Smile and will be anticipating new stuff from you.

thanks,

I didn't quite catch what you meant the first time i read this post by you but now I understand.Yes I see no reason for them to be archived here as they will always be available in the hub and like you said they don't really fit in with zappateers archiving aims so it would probably be best if they are just allowed to run until they run out of steam. And they could always be re-seeded.
