"Frank Vincent Zappa -
The Interview" (MH)
Private Audio Recording - 51.35 minutes
1990 07 30 North Hollywood

On July 30th, 1990 Michael Heinze (MH) and his
wife Elke met FZ in his studio in North Hollywood
for an interview on behalf of LIVING magazine
(Braunschweig & Cologne) in Germany. It never
has been published as intended - but waited 3
years in the vault to be given birth on the first
European digital CD-ROM magazine produced by
Media Magic/Robert Rosenbaum /Systematics in
Hamburg & Michael Heinze.

Michael and Elke had a very open and candid chat with FZ
about a wide variety of subjects, among which the
recent political developments in Germany, and
also the current and past events in America, and
to which extent these have strongly been
influencing his musical catalogue.
As FZ likes to say: "... most of the stuff that
influences me are all things that make me mad."

Source: 51.35 min, B+/B (sound as recorded with a private Panasonic "dictaphone")
Lineage:
PANASONIC RN-Z 109 A > Sony Micro Cassette MC 60 > TASCAM DA-30 DAT Recorder > Sony DT-120 DAT
> Audio CD-R > EAC > wav > Soundforge 5: editing, tracking > flac FFE lvl7 w/SBA

Tracklist:
01 Just 'Germany' 3:31
02 The Ugly German? 4:34
03 Zappa in Deutschland 6:07
04 Marketing and Religion 8:08
05 Looking For Miracles 3:18
06 Them Or Me 4:41
07 Digital Library 3:28
08 Censorship 8:55
09 Nazis in America 4:46
10 My Inspiration 4:07

As occasionnally the voices of all participants are not easy to understand,
a transcript of this interview in .pdf format (english, plus translated in german),
put together by MH, is included in a separate folder.

This Sound & Written-Word-Interaktive-Interview
with Frank Zappa has been previously produced in
cooperation with Media Magic/Robert Rosenbaum,
USA & Hamburg and shown to the public first with
Systematics, MAC World Berlin 1992 & PRISMA ,
Interactive Media - then released in 1993 by MH
on the first European digital CD-ROM magazine
produced by Media Magic/Robert Rosenbaum
/Systematics in Hamburg, re-published in 1995 on
a CD-ROM by Digital Media/Hamburg.
The company ADVANCED MULTIMEDIA Heinze & Oellrich
GmbH & Co. KG in Braunschweig put this purely
Macintosh oriented programming on a higher level
as a hybrid version Windows & Mac.
MH excerpted a special edition for managing and
promoting purposes for Arf Society Fan Club in
Bad Doberan and published a single CD-ROM with
cover & certified 'Donald Roller Wilson Logo' for
Arf Society Fan Club. Find the original artwork
included here too (.jpg files in same separate
folder).

Also included in this folder:
818-Pumpkin answering message, to which MH is making reference in the interview.
TAM taped by MH July 18th,1990 , prior to his meeting with FZ.

Not hi-fi, but crucial nonetheless. Thank you for uploading this!

What's scary is that what Frank said about the religio-fascist movement in America in the 80's and 90's is even more relevant today. Check out:

Wow, that is the biggest bunch a crap I have ever read. I'm much more afraid of Government which this guy advocates. I would say this guy is more danerous then the religious right.
Which is a joke come on! This is damn funny. If you buy this shit, i have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale...
