Many thanks.

It's interesting that Frank wanted to combine the Halloween '78 material with '79 London shows, then ditched the Halloween stuff in favor of combining '79 London with 1980 material on Tinseltown. I think Frank always had the most affection for the music of his latest band(s).

Does anyone know how the original LP sides for Warts were divided?

Thanks for the seed. One correction: Conehead is from the 10-28-78 early show, although the snippet of guitar at the end is from 10-31. Also, aside from the tracks issued while FZ was alive, a few more have trickled out on Halloween and possibly the Birthday Bundle.

I see here lots of applause for this seed. I understand that there are people who give their applause to everything, otherwise people like Hitler, Stalin and Mao couldnīt be possible. But in this case it runs out to be idiotic.

Is this tape a fake? The quality is bad bad bad. I can only say bad bad bad. The mix, if we can name it a mix could also be done by a kid, but not by Mr. Zappa himself. This might be a soundboard, but could also be a bad "stage" recording or a mix of everything. This is never ever a original Zappa tape. Ok, i understand this tape is arround 30 years old and there myight be a loss of quality due to the years, but so much loss?

Would Zappa ever release such a bad quality recording without cleaning? I think he would never ever released such a bad recording because he never made it.

To me this is a fake. Donīt download it and download the audience recordings they are worth a download.

I think this is an assembly of rough mixes which FZ would have used to evaluate material for release, not something which was a step away from coming out.

Since Mo Mama was transcribed in the same form in the Guitar Book and the Persona Non Grata guitar track appeared in the same form on YAWYI, I'd say that it could only be a "fake" if whoever did it had great editing skills and remarkable knowledge of Zappa's music. And I already have the audience recordings of all these shows, but still find this highly enjoyable. As they say in Grateful Dead circles, your mileage may vary.

tankerwart, to me you are the fake here, as you haven't downloaded anything using this account. Feel free to critisize anything, but don't do so hiding under a fake identity...

These recordings are pretty much comparable to the "Trance Fusion" ones, which were available for years, in pretty bad quality, until finally released by the ZFT, if you're familiar with that one?

I agree with BengoFury!
And plus you call this bad quality? To me it sounds better than "Tinsel-Town Rebellion" in terms of sound quality...
