May I ask the experts how the acetate compares to the 8 track tape? I never have seen any discussion about it http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/vinylvscds/lumpy_gravy.html#capitol8track
I'm quite curious, does anybody have it or listened to it (or even traded)?

I don't have a copy of the Capitol version (=the 8-track), but I have a hybrid - the Verve version with the Capitol-unique segments edited in. Never compared it to the acetates, though.

I seem to remember the other seed having two single edits. Are they widely circulated?

For those who might be looking, the Sink Trap / Gypsy Airs 7" edits are available at http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2899.

While the other version sounded pretty good, I'm very happy to upgrade it!
Tack, Jon!

There was much speed fluctuation between the start and end of the sides, but it turned out to be more or less linear, so a simple pitch bend worked fine to these ears.

Very happy with the results of the speed adjustments applied on these tapes. tunes

Thanks very much, Yojimbo.

THANKS! I allways loved Lumpy Gravy, and it's quite interesting to hear without the piano talks..

stupid question... Do we know when and where were recorded these demos ?

so much differences with the CD version (which is one of my all-time fav LPs)... I've always prefered the "demo" version to the CD but have always a poor sound until this version...

I remember having read that it was a kind of tribute (some parts) to Bernard Hermann's sountracks...
But I can't remember where I read this...

I think this was all recorded at Capitol Studios, Hollywood, Mar. 14-16 1967.
