Thank you for sharing analog414. The guitar solos from this period in "Conehead" are some of my favorite FZ pieces - looking forward to hearing this one.

yours in FZ,

THANK YOU, FRIEND!

Just something:

So, is the speed inconstant or it's ok? Wink

The speed is correct. All the way through. Speed stays relatively consistent as the these units are designed to do. The batteries need to go WAY down for this to happen. Every single show I ever did was with fresh batteries. There are no speed issues with my master playback as I make sure they are perfect and the recording stays to my expectations all through the playback. If there are ANY problems at all I will be the first to hear them. My quality control is second to no one. Smile

My backup batteries failed and caused
the incomplete recording. Due to the HUGE hassle at the small door, I did not dare try to
bring in the recorder after the seen I made at the early show. Besides, my backup batteries
failed beyond repair.

I've only been taping for about five years now, and only in the past year have I been even vaguely approaching regularity. I'm fortunate, in that the single backup battery failure I ever encountered was two nights ago, during the opening act of the Project/Object show. When I came back to the patch bay to turn my recorder off after the set, I noticed - to my horror - that the recorder had already performed that step for me. Fortunately, it did so about a minute or so before I came up - and even more fortunately, the 8x10 - of the thirty-plus venues in three different states that I've been to - is the single club, the sole place, the solitary joint which is within a block of a 24-hour battery store, and I was able to purchase not only replacements, but backup replacements - both of which I ended up using on the side of caution.

Shitty purple rechargeable batteries and charger which makes an electric sizzling noise when utilized: $20
Two two-packs of backup replacements from 7-11: $7
Being able to walk to the store and buy the second two-pack of batteries during the span of Honey Don't You Want a Man Like Me and I'm So Cute: Priceless.

Point of the tangent: More venues should try to set up shop close to 24-hour convienence stores.

Anyway, enough of me. Thanks for the show! tunes

Mastered and re-tracked by Ninja !

I love how he first asserts that his "re-mastering" is ineffectual (i.e., indistinguishable for the "RAW" recording), then takes credit for the "bad tracking" . . .

My head hurts from all that scratchin' . . .

As those who've been around here long enough to remember when I could still actually establish an IRC connection and participate in the listening sessions will tell you, I'm a big fan of FZ' late-'70s TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, man . . .

This recording give me a whole mess of what I dig.

Oh -- check this, after listening to this show: http://zappa.com/cheezoid/whatsnew/this-just-in/emails/sleep-dirt.html

puke

As endearing as his Zappateers dependancy is, methinks it's time for a siteop to check some I.P. addresses and ban a certain special someone's parachute Zappateers account.
