Thanks for this zombywoof!

This was just what I needed.
Sound and picture is ok.
Subtitles are a bit fainty, but I love the subtitles at this one. Besides for my wife it's more easy to get into zappanesque humor in music.

If somebody can tell me how to make a seed of a Nero Cover Designer Document (246 kb), I'll have a simple coverdesign for harjen and others, the easy teenage New York version.

Holland.. there must be 28 villages named Holland spread over the US (I have a book describing a trip to each of them), Holland.. also part of The Netherlands (and I need no book to this).

here's to you Kristoftof,

"deutsch" Ôs the German word for the language they speak in Germany
"dutch" is the English word for the language they/we speak in Holland/The Netherlands

most Dutch people (from Holland/The Netherlands) speak not only Dutch but also German/Deutsch but only with German people, so in Holland they speak dutch and when Dutch people are on holiday in Germany they speak Deutsch, most people from the Dutch/Vlaams speaking part of Belgium also.
besides we/they speak English also; and there we're back to translating the great words of FZ to Dutch, but only on this particular television show of New York 1981-10-31 wich was broadcasted many years ago on Dutch TV.

you see, you learn quick!

Dutch television(VARA-TV) aired YAWYI with subtitles at the time. Repeated when Frank died in 1993.

Dallasman,

Just compare the setlist of the two:

This DVD: (ony 13 is part of the late show, the rest is from the early show).

01-You Are What You Is
02-Mudd Club
03-The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing
04-Dumb All Over
05-Heavenly Bank Account
06-Suicide Chump
07-Jumbo Go Away
08-Turning Again
09-Alien Orifice
10-Teen-Age Prostitute
11-Flakes
12-Broken Hearts Are For Assholes
13-Montana
14-Whipping Post

TTNS:

01. Black Napkins #
02. Montana #
03. Easy Meat #
04. Beauty Knows No Pain #
05. I'm A Beautiful Guy #
06. Charlie's Enormous Mouth #
07. Fine Girl #
08. Teenage Wind #
09. Harder Than Your Husband #
10. Bamboozled By Love #
11. We're Turning Again *
12. Alien Orifice *
13. Flakes *
14. Broken Hearts Are For Assholes *
15. You Are What You Is *
16. Mudd Club *
17. The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing *
18. Dumb All Over *
19. Heavenly Bank Account *
20. Suicide Chump *
21. Jumbo Go Away *
22. Stevie's Spanking #

Like Adje van den Berg says on Steve Vai's "Answers": De antwoorden zijn altijd al aanwezig!

Haha, do you mean Carlsberg or Karlsberg ? Well known Carlsberg beer with C is actually from Denmark, where people speak danish. Karlsberg beer with K is from Saarland, a county of Germany, where people speak sort of german, that might sound like danish but not german at all. Wink

I've just been comparing the two, so allow me report on that.

My conclusion is basically that there is no comparion Very Happy
The video as well as the audio (stereo!!) on TTNS is much much better, while it indeed contains many more songs than YAWYI. Furthermore TTNS doesn't have those yucky dutch subtitles.

In fact the only reason I could see to download this version (YAWYI) would be for those two songs that are not on TTNS.

Hi NYLifer/Bob,

The DVD is in PAL format, could it be that your DVD player doesn't read PAL?

You could try to convert the VOB files from PAL to NTSC. I think this should be possible with the free version f TMPGEnc, which you can find here: http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_main.html

It could be worth considering to upload all DVD's in NTSC, because most DVD players and TV's in Europe nowadays also support NTSC next to PAL.

However, NTSC contains less horizontal lines than PAL, but has more frames per second.

What does anyone think about the quality differences between PAL and NTSC, which do you guys consider the better one?

Cheers,

ZW

I'm a firm believer (now) in not converting since:
a) zappateers is all about the best possible version.
b) the better one is the original one, conversion to the other system always means downgrading.

Uploading a converted version here would probably be fround upon (and rightly so). Once upon a time I suggested such a conversion. It was explained to me that you can get players in North America (too) that do both so there is no need to convert.

Having said all that, they say PAL is better. However since all of all will be on a HD system shortly we should all be able to play either.

(if you must, for personal use, TMPEG does not do a very good conversion, VEGAS 5.0 does a much better job).
