That's a different source of the boot still running here: http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6281

It does not contain the cuts present in the other boot, but it's shorter so I think both version are worth having. This was ripped by tizianobo (who is a Zappateer too!!), and all I had to do was just rename the files. I think it sounds better than "B".

Here's the original notes:

"Frank Zappa 1973 02 24 Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.

Title: Pygmy Pony
Sound quality: Audience B
Label: White Label FW 8228

Side one
1. RENDUZEL
2. Dog Breath
3. Fifty-Fifty
4. Son of the Clap

Side two
1. The Nancy & Mary Music Part 1
2. The Nancy & Mary Music Part 2
3. The Nancy & Mary Music Part 3
4. Montana

The cover has a very bad xerox picture on orange paper of a probably real pony outdoors, glued to a white cardboard cover, and says 1974 and not 1973.

Musicians: Frank Zappa: guitar and vocals, Jean Luc Ponty: violin, Tom Fowler: bass, Ralph Humphrey: drums, Ruth Underwood: marimba and vocals, Ian Underwood: woodwinds, George Duke: keyboards and electronics and vocals, Bruce Fowler: trombone.

Other info here:

http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/bootlegs/concert_boots1971-1975.html#pygmypony

The tracks of this torrent are:

01. RDNZL
02. Dog Breath Variations
03. Uncle Meat
04. Fifty-Fifty
05. Inca Roads
06. Improvvisation (The Nancy And Mary Music part 1 2 3)
07. Montana

LP (M- condition) > Sound Forge 6 (click and crackle and rumble removal) > wav > flac level 8"

Share and enjoy!!!

Thanks!
I was downloading the big big John Coltrane torrent from dimeadozen.org, so I let go of this one. You can't download everything you see and hear, can you?

Now at the Zappateers I get another chance.

Thanx for this one! - Just wondering: are there any SBDs from the 1973 line-up with Ponty?

Ponty: February-July 1973 & August-September 1973

1973 06 25 Horden Pavillion, Sydney, Australia 128.45 [SBD] (N2B-walk) is on the tracker.

So is 1973 06 24 Horden Pavillion, Sydney, Australia [SBD] (Bengofury). This is the better sounding of the two. I believe the 6-25 show was seeded as a 90 min version without the 6-24 material tacked on.

Also check out Arlington, TX 1973-03-11. It is an audience recording, but sounds as good if not better than many of the SBD tapes out there.

Kind regards,
Overnitefreak

Yes, you're right ... I relied on info from the Q&C database ... The two Ponty SBD's on the tracker and have seeders are these:

1973 06 24 Sydney AU 112.46 SBD (Bengo)
http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1267

1973 06 25 Sydney 92:21 SBD (WIU2B)
http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4677

Glad you made me check since I don't seem to have the Bengo 24th version at all Very Happy

No prob Unicrayon. I was just helping along what you started in response to scherbe2003's question.

Actually, the fact that the 6-25-73 show ended up in the Q&C database is partly my fault. Last year, MrUMRK started a thread there for suggestions to add to the database. I recommended Bengo's 6-24, but it must have been typo'd somewhere after and it mistakingly got voted in as the 6-25 show. headhammer

I saw it a few weeks later but forgot to let the Q&C team know of the error. Embarassed I guess I need to suggest the addition of 6-24 again since it needs to be there. Bengo's was the best I've heard.
