Neat to see this.

Back in the 70s, WHFS used to be a very hip radio station. Sort of the K-ROQ of the mid-atlantic - they were the sort to play entire albums on the air and the like. Had Zappa stuck around in Baltimore, they'd probably be the station playing Lather.

However, that was the 70s. By the 90s it was basically nothing more than Nirvana ripoffs and Nine Inch Nails with occasional classic rock in between. The playlist reeked of payola, or whatever the euphemism for "payola" is (A&R? Laughing) About the only time I'd listen to them was to catch Loveline. The yearly HFStival was a complete joke, even back in high school. I think Blind Melon "headlined" once. Sort of the 90s version of a less successful Peter Frampton. Very Happy

In 2004 they went off the air, and 99.1FM is now a spanish station. I'd say it's a lateral move.

Just a little off-topic history for those of you interested in this kind of stuff.

Well Zappa Penguin- you have just described the fate of many a U.S. radio station over the last 20 years. College stations & satellite are about the only hope left.

Thanks for the post teasea!
Kind regards,

I second that request. Thank you too !

BTW I have a 16 min recording of this interview (from a WIU2B tape rip)
starting with FZ's words " ... with Bianca on keyboard and vocals ...", followed by the "Story Of Ms Pinky",
and ending with Cosmik Debris.

Will see how it compares to this upload.

It seems that a much longer version of this interview program is included in GSW Project vol.#16 - 1975-1976 (T-1493)
