The Mothers had an endorsement deal with Hagstrom, so that seems likeliest.

Early 1966? Shouldn't Ray Collins have been there?

Presumably he and Billy Mundi's substitute are on the other side of JCB.

I didn't know that Billy Mundi was in the band at the same time as Elliot Ingber.

The early years are woefully underdocumented. Maybe it was Denny Bruce's substitute. Or maybe JCB was the only drummer in the MOI at the time and the guy quoted on IINK was mistaken about a substitute.

That's what I thought, too, but it doesn't look like any of the Hagstrom bass models listed here--also, Frank and Elliott both appear to be playing Gibsons, so this image probably predates the Hagstrom deal. The headstock's wrong for a Vox.

I believe that Billy Mundi joined after Elliot was out. Del Casher was in. But there could be a brief overlap. also, I think that when the Mothers went on this promo tour, JCB was the only drummer. Was the trip to Hawaii part of the same trip? That was where FZ got the flower pants I think
