Fantastic! Me and my neighbours enjoyed that this morning... nothing like a guitar solo with a 1970 attitude to get us all going... Thanks.

I confess I was a bit disappointed at first this wasn't the Hot Rats 1970 sessions that were hinted on the podcast. Then I realized this doesn't mean we won't get them soon as well: after all, a similar thing happened when Halloween 1973 was announced and released before The Hot Rats Sessions boxset.

The live stuff looks nice and will probably spawn many fine performances ("Portuguese Fenders" sounds pretty great, musically and sonically) but what really perks up my interest is disc #1: I'm a sucker for studio releases! I wonder what those unknown titles are.

cheers

I'll be interested to hear George Duke's contributions, he always seemed a bit wasted in this band, although I do like the Nancy & Mary music. Consensus from tape reviewers and FZ himself was that this tour was weaker than the 1971 tours, but new material is always welcome.

Yes I was expecting more of the early 70 band than the late 70 band (and Joe confirmed
that there wasn’t any recordings of the MOI reunion band in the vault. Can’t wait anyway !!

I'm guessing Lola Steponsky is a rehearsal of Giraffe.

This looks fantastic, I can't wait!

We finally get Giraffe!!!!

Judging by the "Welcome to El Monte Legion Stadium" intro, I'm guessing Disc 3 is the Santa Monica show, with the last few songs missing.
