I'm excited. Hopefully, one of the theatres in Wichita or Salina will show it.

This is the text on my link:

Director Alex Winter has set out to create the definitive documentary about Frank Zappa. With unprecedented access to Zappa's own vault, Winter and his team have painstakingly crafted a film from hundreds of hours of material that had been stored for decades and unseen by the public.

Vs

The first all-access documentary about the life and times of Frank Zappa will debut at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival. Director Alex Winter, who you know as Bill S. Preston, Esq. from Bill & Ted’s, will debut the film which was crafted from hundreds of hours of material that had been stored for decades and unseen by the public, with Ahmet Zappa as part of the production team.

Ahmet Zappa spoke with Rolling Stone about the film, which is “by far the most intimate and expansive look into the innovative life of Frank Zappa, narrated by Frank in his own words.” He went onto say that “it’s quite unbelievable what Alex has achieved” and that this is “the definitive Frank Zappa documentary.”

From the pappazappa link I was responding to.

Despite not liking the way they went about this whole bizniz, (and still feeling that Alex Winter may not have been the right person to do this) I am SO looking forward to seeing all the unseen footage..... I mean, the first time anyone's had FULL ACCESS to everything... It's gotta be good right?

NO. But I bet it will be just fine.

Principal Cast: Frank Zappa, Gail Zappa, Pamela Des Barres, Bunk Gardner, David Harrington, Mike Keneally, Scott Thunes, Ruth Underwood, Steve Vai, Ray White

Had to look that up. The Kronos guy.

I hope they do shed light on the regular guy Frank. Hope Ike is included, as he really comes off as his sidekick and that is
always a unique relationship. Y'know, that friend that is troubled and that your wife gives you shit about but you can't help
but feel sympathetic toward? Plus they make you laugh? We've all had one of those, right? As I think Vai called FZ:
a perpetual teenager.

I can't recall the exact words which were better than this, but I think it was at Zappanale where O'Hearn said one aspect of playing with Zappa which he enjoyed, was being payed to live in suspended/prolonged state of adolescence.

Sadly, Ike told me a few months ago that he had not even been approached for a comment.

Hmm... Not a good start.. As bp said, Frank and Ike were proper buddies, and Ike was in the band - on and off - for 10 years.... He's should be part of the ''definitive doc'' about FZ... Ike sang Joe's Garage into one of my top 5 albums fer chrissake!

That's a shame! his vocal range on Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up to this day always resonates with me. I'm assuming the reason Frank included that song on JG was to showcase Ike's vocal talents

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Priceless! Funny as only the truth can be. Wink

For all the talk about unfettered access I'd bet ya that from Day One there was a List.

Still, while it is THE official doc, it's not like it is the only one. It's never going to be definitive.
Frank was way too big for a 2 hour movie.
