Just arrived, 180grm audiophile vinyl by Pallas ,mastered by Bernie Grundman from 1969 1/4" Analogue master tape. This is official release #7.
A question, having never owned an original was it always a gatefold?
A friend had a copy in the early 70's and I don't remember it opening out.

My original LP is a gatefold.

Well I haven't seen my vinyl copy of Mothermania since about 1982 when it, along with quite a few other FZ albums, was stolen.... but I don't remember it being a gatefold.... Although having said that the picture of the eight mouths that appears on the CD does look familiar.....

The original (USA, 1969) and the promo I have, come with a gatefold cover with the eight close-up pictures showing the MOI's teeth mentioned by FOB. The back cover has an article in German.
I have the UK 1969 version which has a single sleeve cover with the back which is different from the original.
Then there is a variety of releases from different Countries.
You can find a list here:

As concerns the Pallas recent release you mention, I think it is a black vinyl release by UMe while the Newbury release in the title of this thread is a different release on color vinyl.

Thanks for the info.
Did the original versions have recognizable track separation on the vinyl as this new version is just labelled Side One & Two and is one track per side.

I'm sure uncle max can give you a definitive answer but FWIW I'm almost certain there WAS track separation..
