Just another "Never Seen Show"!
And as if that werent enough - in very good audio quality too!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank Zappa
Palace Theatre
Providence, RI, USA
1972 11 12
~~ HKR01 unknown Gen AUD files (currently no filler material available) ~~
Taped by: unknown
Supplied by: HKR01 and drdork
Edited by: Pittylabelle

This copy: 119.13 min, AUD unknown Gen, A/A-
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About this edit:
The recordings (no tape available):
The tracks were already available individually. There is sometimes a short fade in and out.
Sometimes the tracks start and end suddenly. The tracks were of course not additionally shortened by me
or faded in or out. There is no material left out!
Clicks:
The tracks from 1 to 8, had quite a few and pretty strong digital clicks on both channels.
Regarding this problem, the rest of the tracks were OK. I'm assuming that it has something to do
with the two sides of the original tape (which is not available). So, side 1 has these clicks,
while side 2 seems to be OK. Luckily, these were very easy to eliminate with the right algorhythm
of iZotope RX.
Basic corrections:
Only the most necessary corrections have been made (please see list below). There was no remastering
in the traditional sense, so therefore no re-EQ or the like.
Mono or Stereo?
The recording was done in Mono. However, the two level meters already indicate a different extent -
but it's of course an illusion of Stereo made by tape wear.
Then the best channel of each piece was chosen and duplicated for "2 channel real Mono".

wow! thank you so much to everyone behind this release!
this is one of my favorite ever era... I can't get tired of these shows... especially which such sound quality and "Little Dots" was different at every gig...
Unicrayon should came back for a special artwork! a special show... means special artwork... Jeremy, what do you think about this?
May I ask? I'm not sure, but was the B-side of Rollo RSD (an improvisation - at Portland) a part of it was not I.D... not part of this show ?

Sorry for the lack of source information. Here's how this all happened. I'm undertaking the task of digitizing my CDs. It's a huge job and I got bored so I decided to jump to the end and do the Zappa stuff. In there I found three CDR jewel cases that had no labels, covers, backs, spines, nothing. Just some handwriting. I checked with my main friend in Nashville who has sent me so much Zappa, Rory Gallagher and other stuff over the years. We've seen many a Zappa show, many a Dweezil ZPZ show too. But it's not his handwriting on the disk. He's racked his brain and could only come up with the possibility that he received the CDR's from someone else, didn't listen to 'em and forwarded them along to me. Then I checked another friend (who lives in Providence) and it's not his handwriting. What a mystery, it's not his wife's either. I'm stumped. To make things even more nuts, there were two other jewel cases that had "Boston 1972" and "Boston 1974" on them. Those are also AUD recordings. One of those the quality is crap. The other not horrible. It's the Zappa Wazoo show. Same cuts but maybe a little more dialog. Recording is not as good as the official release and not worth the trouble. I want to take the opportunity to humbly thank drdork, Flambay, Pittylabelle for the kindness of your help and hospitality in making this all nice for everyone. On the way off chance that anyone can recognize the handwriting, I'm attaching a photo of the disks as I found them. Arf arf. (photo attached)
and if any kind soul wants to make a nice cover, i'd be honored to have that in my music collection (Plex) for this show! _________________ "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro" HST
