Well I wasn't sure about Martin's use of verb tense there. Thought maybe he didn't get the news that Mr. Duke is now playing that great piano in the sky. Or keytar. Or Rhodes. Or Arp. Or trombone.

Does anybody here know what he thought about Sun Ra? Did Duke ever mention him? His more "exporative" synth solos sometimes remind me of the man from Saturn. I mean... early 70s, Ra got more popular, heavy jazz background with GD anyway, so it's not out of perspective that Duke was very aware of/interested in/inspired by what was happening in that camp.

Interesting. Never gave it a moments thought. Will be listening a little differently in the future, that's for sure.
