Sierra Nevada makes great beer. If anyone finds a few bottles and would like to trade for some excellent local Kansas brew, hit me up. They're not carrying it out by me, yet.

A little googling brought up another Zappa inspired beer series I was unaware of from a few years back. Jackie O's out of Athens OH brewed and offered up some very limited draft only (it appears) beers. Amongst them:
Oil of Aphrodite
Dynamo Hum
Magic Mama
Grand Wazoo
Muffin Man
Captain Barley Heart
Pygmy Twilight

I will be watching for this.... Did anyone favor the Lagunitas brew from a few years back?

I had a Freak Out when I visited my ex's brother a few years back. Fairly middle of the road. Biscuity malt with some pepper and citrus from the hops. If it erred anywhere, then it was a little too sweet.

I say this as I reach for a Little Sumpin'... is it the girl or the beer... don't care...

I liked the Ruben Stout the best (bought a case) though I never got to try the Kill Ugly Radio beer. I do remember Lumpy Gravy was a hit with the Zappa ignorant staff at a local specialty beer bar.

The Kill Ugly Radio was GREAT!! I was told by someone at Lagunitas that the KUR recipe was very close to the regularly available Dogtown Pale Ale. The ABV was higher on the KUR at 7.8% The Dogtown Pale Ale is 6.2%.

Try it!! It's really good stuff.

Never took a shine to Sierra Nevada but a friend offered up a bottle of their Oktoberfest the other night and it was
a perfect beer to my palate. I imagine it is a seasonal release so now I need to find what remains in the local shops pronto.

SN Blurb: We’ve partnered with Bavaria’s Weihenstephan, the world’s oldest brewery, for this American take on the classic German Oktoberfest.
