Frank Zappa
18-Apr 1975
Veterans Memorial Coliseum
New Haven, CT

As noted by Yojimbo in his samples post:
this recording sounds like it was made from the very back of an echoey hall, and the results are far from pleasant. The most interesting thing about this show is one of the two known pre-88 Uncle Remuses, here in a 8,5 min. soul ballad-type version.
and here, I would like to add that mention about a very special version of Lets Make That Water Turn Black which unexpectedly turns
into a slightly unusual vamp in Bb-C, with a FZ solo, before segueing into a short final Willie The Pimp.
Enjoy !

Fantastic! Bad sound or no, I'm very keen on finally hearing this show, especially the Uncle Remus. (I've heard it's like the half-speed version that George Duke recorded for one of his own records. The same record also had the very truncated version of Echidna's Arf that was played on this tour - I wonder if those arrangements were Duke's idea or Zappa's?)

Also, this marks a milestone: it's the first time that Zappateers has had every known show from a particular tour. (I'm not counting line-ups that didn't tour widely, like the MOI reunion in 1970, the Grand Wazoo, or the ZINY band.) I can't begin to imagine the amount of hard work and dedication it took to amass all this material. Congratulations and tremendous gratitude to everybody!

Hope it's a little better then the version I've got.
Just relistend my copy of this show.
The way slow Remus, with high vocals is really great.

Thanks to the dream team! thumbsup

Someone should invent a software to turn a C into a B+ (or A- ?)!

... and don't forget, there is a big difference between kneeling down and bending over!

I'm the first with a quartet. My line-up has a Larry on lead guitar.

Guitar Solo Baz band

The Larry always is out of time, but nevertheless... I'm telling you my band is going to be really something.

Thanks for this upload !! - so far I mostly avoided those early "C"-type Bongo Fury-tour shows, but it seems there are really some unique nuggets to find.

The present day stattewäbchen refuses to compose...

Would you like to jam with my sextet?
