Here are sampled portions of both the current seed (82.28 sbd jaypfunk-bf-wiu2b-ludznl-fl-zp) and the version that has been languishing in the shoebox for some time (1974 07 17 celebrity theater, phoenix, az sbd 2nd gen (robsam doctorzap)).

Now, large parts of Rob Samler's copy are a clear upgrade in my opinion, but it does have some tape issues of its own. The ringing that is marring the old FZShows version is completely absent here however. Some parts sound better on the FZShows seed and some on the shoebox seed. I have also found that Side A starts a bit earlier and cuts out a good deal later on the Robsam/Doctorzap. Side B is longer on the old seed however.

You be the judge as to what we should do with this.

Included (for both sources):

RDNZL INTRO
CAMARILLO START
ROBSAM COSMIK INTRO
ROBSAM DUPREE THEME
ROBSAM ECHIDNA START
SIDE A END
SIDE A START
SIDE B END
SIDE B START

Thanks for sampling Gwonam. Much appreciated.

Sometimes it helps to give a little more time in each sample. For me anyway. Helps to get my ears acclimated. But, in this case I think I agree with you that the Robsam/DrZ copy sounds better over all and is the way to go. Especially when comparing Dupree's and Echidna's here. Plus, it is longer which is always good.

Also, check the original seed for those patch points in RDNZL & Dupree's vs. the Robsam/DrZ version to make sure those gaps in Jay's copy aren't also present in Rob's.

Not sure if it will be needed to do some spectral analysis before we move forward just in case. I will leave that up to the other experts here.

Upgrades always welcome!

Kind Regards,
