Although this tape has the date 1979 02 08, I think some of the first few short tracks (that I suspect are bits from various tapes that someone like Arthur Barrow or Tom Brown thought were highlights) are from other dates, likely fall 1978. I remember FZ's remark from the end of track 06 ("it is my contention that each and every member of the band owes me a hamburger") from one of the other 1978 tapes shared here. Still, for now I think it makes sense to share the whole recording as it has circulated.

Tracks 07-12 presumably are from the 1979 date and have the band running through some of that year's setlist, as well as a long rehearsal of Packard Goose, mainly concentrating on the ending.

Thanks to all who contributed in saving the Yojimbo collection.

Thanks very much! All the 1979 rehearsals took place at the Rainbow Theatre in London.

Just looked at Arthur Barrow's book and he mentions that. He also wrote that February 8 was the final rehearsal before the tour started on the 10th.

Flambay was involved - he listened to the transfer and found that it did not need speed correction.

04 Thirteen/Mystery Rehearsal Piece [3:28]

It seems that part (from 2:02 to end) of this track is same performance as the part of track 4 of 1979 02 XX #2 Rehearsal London UK 9.45 Aud.
And this Packard Goose rehearsal is very interesting. FZ mentions Al Di Meola and Alvin Lee and Warren is playing that lick. This reminds me of Joe's Garage version and London show.

I remember that tape has a similar Conehead/Saddle Bags too, but I'm not sure if it's the same.

The officially released Chicago 78 show has some Alvin Lee licks and joking about his band Ten Years Later too.
