Yep.

I'm also interested in the packaging.

Joe talks about it in the latest Zappacast.

He said it was the best sounding vinyl version that has ever been produced. He also said the 2012 cd version was just as good if you already own it, but if you love vinyl and have a nice set up, then you will find this vinyl reissue is superior to the original pressing. At least that's what I remember him saying.

We all know what Joe said. I'm looking for opinions from people here that have actually HEARD it.

Oh, now I remember why I don't bother coming here much. It's like talking with an anemic toddler.

Calm down, guys, no need to get heated.

La_Biesta has posted the 2016 vinyl as his "album of the day" a couple of days ago. Perhaps, if he sees this thread, he can chime in and put his two cents.

cheers

Here's a few comments I found on the Steve Hoffman forums:

Quote:
The new Joes is fantastic , SQ wise best of this batch , I bought them all!

Quote:
I listened to the new pressing of Joe's Garage - Act 1 tonight. So far, this is the best sounding of all of the Zappa reissues I've purchased. Bernie Grundman nailed the mastering on this one. The frequency response is perfectly balanced, the dynamics lively and the soundstage is huge. As for the LP, it is flat as a board, dead quiet and has no non-fill issues. Also, unlike the other Zappa reissue LPs I've purchased this one has no sibilance issues. Yowza! I look forward to Acts 2 and 3.

Quote:
Just got Joe's Garage today and Spinning act 1 right now! My god, the pressing is amazing. Dynamics are lively and wonderful! Bernie did a great job as usual!

So, yes, it seems the consensus is that this is the best edition so far and that it's a quality pressing.

cheers

Thanks BF. I can't wait to get it.

I never really trust anyone's opinions over at the Hoffman forum. Most of those guys are audio snob elitist dorks.

If I compare it with the ( FZ25 / ZAPPA 20 - Made in England Box 1990 ).

The 2016 ed. sounds better.

No comparison yet with the original releases or CD version.

Sorry guys: I'm in a lack of time for that sort of things.
