Description:

This bootleg has the best soundquality of all recordings so far - better than all
bootleg re-issues and the AUD versions in "FZ Shows" on the tracker!

From http://lukpac.org (abstract):

This is the original bootleg, released in the Netherlands some time between Novemeber
1971 and September 1972. It was one of the very first Zappa bootlegs. It has an old
Amsterdam phone number on the sleeve, and says "All rights paid".

On this recording, the Mothers sing the Dutch lines "Geef mij wat vloerbedekking /
Onder deze vette zwevende sofa" instead of the usual German. This is why Zappa says
"vloerbedekking" before "Theme from Lumpy Gravy" on Make a Jazz Noise Here, recorded
at the same venue in 1988.

- Originally issued in the Netherlands as "In Europe", with two variant covers
- Re-issued in the US, with bonus tracks, as "Poot Face Booogie" by The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label (TAKRL 1909)
- Re-issued slightly differently as "Live in Amsterdam" 1971 by Winds Records (ZPP 1A/B)
- One of the above variants re-issued as "The Dream Machine" on clear vinyl (mmm), with two variant covers
- "Poot Face Booogie" re-issued with Safe Muffinz on Singer's Original Double Disks, SODD as "No Commercial Potential" (2 LP)
- "Poot Face Booogie" re-issued with Safe Muffinz as "Vitamin Deficiency" (2 LP)
- Perhaps identical to the "GH-111 metal acetate" known as "Live in Holland 1971"

CD-Artwork for this vinyl remastering included!

Original artwork pictures by BengoFury and Discogs included!

Thanks.

It was a little bit tricky for this corrected version - not only because currently my time is very limited. Sad

A very special thanks also to Paolo - he noticed a small skip/overlap (made by the bootleggers) on track 01 in the last minute! Wink

How does this differ from the version I downloaded a couple of weeks ago? Is it just the small skip/overlap in track 01?

I've corrected some more channel-volume-fluctuations, mainly in The Sofa Suite - I think I have detected all now.
I've also eliminated some more annoying vinyl clicks by hand, using my old tape-sourced LP version as a reference.
Because we have many different noises that came from room acoustics and the audience itself. Nice example: clapping.

Very tricky project - but I'm happy with it for now.

That skip/overlap correction in track 01 is a bonus - Pablo thankfully informed me in the last minute.
And last but not least, there is this CD-Artwork - for old-schools guys like me. Wink

As always, you have to make a decision:
A. A best possible version (for the moment)
B. A downgraded version

For me it's simply a matter of principle - If I detect some flaws afterwards,
I have the motivation to correct this. I admit there are some people who complain
about downloading again in general - but if they don't like it they can lump it.

For future projects I think about a kind of "quality control network". But this would
take even more time, work and nerves.
