WTF happened to the rest of the program? The audio has been bootlegged since the beginning of time but nobody has ever seen the footage.

Thanks! It's actually haunting to watch performances recorded at the Bataclan, considering what has happened over there decades later Sad

Maybe the video tapes were wiped and the only reason "Click Clack" survives is because it was repeated during another program and spliced out of the original master reel.

cheers

The sound quality is AWESOME here, but it is loaded with bizarre glitches and cuts off early, so it's practically useless.

A search on Google leads to a Pop 2 1973 episodes with Beefheart,Bowie and Hendrix on Youtube,bt it has been banned after a complaint from the INA,who doesn't even list it on its website...

Maybe it is from a Pop 2 compilation?

I stripped it from dvd #65 of this series which is being sold by various online pirates.
Unlike the French TV Archives series (being sold by the same group of criminals), these Pop2 episodes aren't exactly top-notch transfers and have the ina logo.
The French TV Archives are the same clips ina was selling on their site except without their bloody logo cluttering up the screen.

Personally, I find this copy of CB 72 Bataclan a welcome relief over the vcd sourced garbage we used on past dvd comps.

Description from the INA site:

http://www.ina.fr/video/CPF86653731

A "best of" of concerts prented on the show.

So the Beefheart bit must be only an excerpt of a longer one presented earlier in a different episode-damn!

That's exactly my opinion and therefore I added this to The Beefheart Catalogue today. Wink

81 dvd...

Oh,my god...

(well,81 dvds but not THE complete one with Beefheart)

Lots of Soft Machine,this said...

Never knew there was footage of West Bruce & Lang (sharing the bill with Can???);Beck Bogert Appice appeared on the show but it seems to have vanished too.

And "Dick Jouant" is in fact "Dick playing (guitar)",Dick Annegarn.

Wish there was some Albert Marcoeur footage (just gave a quick look to the list, maybe I missed it if there is some).Good to see Magma-related material do exist.
