BTW, WXRT still has this show (Sundays at 8 PM), although now they just call it the "Sunday Night Concert" series. They did an edited rebroadcast of the FZ Halloween '81 show a few years ago. In '99 they did an "archives" special one weekend - I didn't listen to it all but they had some cool stuff, such as a Jethro Tull recording (8/16/70, commonly booted).

Thanks Yojimbo! I've been hoping for an upgrade of this one.

Kind regards,

Great Roxy & elsewhere miscellania. Thanks Yojimbo.

Hey isn't that the same Farther Oblivion as on FZ/OZ? Maybe not, it sounds familiar though.

The "Father O'Blivion" is on YCDTOSA 6.

Thank you Jon Smile This radio program is a must!
Guitar Event is a solo from Dupree's Paradise I think.

Pygmy Twylyte/Dummy Up (w/ Coffee, unknown date/location)

I've found the following on Zappa Wiki Jawaka http://wiki.killuglyradio.com/index.php/Irma_Coffee

Quote:
Also known as Erma Coffee and Emma Coffee.

Irma Coffee sat in as a guest vocalist with Zappa's band in New Jersey on 11/07/1973 (early show), and provided vocals on "Pygmy Twylyte" & "Dummy Up".

Had a single: "You Made Me What I Am" / "Anyway The Wind Blows" (Hi Records 1973). The latter track does not seem to be the Zappa song of the same name.

BUT... hmm on 7-Nov 1973 FZ played in Boston... So this track has probably been recorded in Wayne, on 11-Nov 1973, early show.

No, it's from an unknown NJ show. Possibly the Paterson, NJ show FZ mentions in the Waterloo dance contest, but it has been suggested that he's referring to Paterson College in Wayne. There may very well be other late '73 NJ shows we don't know about.

Where the name "Un-concert" comes from, I don't know.

I believe this was the name of WXRT's live music show at the time. I've seen it mentioned for other artists on DIME.

Could it have something to do with 7-Up's slogan as the UnCola. Maybe they sponsored? Just guessing.

TC... correct as always:

Here is one mention of it (search for "7-up" in the middle of the page):

http://members.aol.com/JAskelly/GGpartsix.htm

There are sponsor references to 7-Up in some of the other WXRT "Un-Concert" series recordings... including, IIRC, a Cobham/Duke show that you seeded some time ago... in addition to the "Sansui Quad Stereo" ads...

I guess it's time to spread those Cobham/Duke shows in a lossless format.....

I always wondered why He didn't officially released this fantastic stuff. Expecially the Coffee jam (because we all know why He didn't release the Sydney material).
Maybe Frank was unsatisfied with the recording quality.
