Is there any reason to keep official VHS copies of FZ that have been released on DVD? I hate the thought of just throwing in the trash.

Sell them on eBay if you don't want them, dummy.

I was not aware of this - mind elaborating? I thought just the aspect ratio had been altered/cropped or something

A scene at the beginning has been deleted and one after "Florentine Pogen" was shortened and put into b/w. No musical content is missing from the DVD, if this is what you are asking yourself

cheers

Baby Snakes (at least the 2 VHS tape version) has these bonus features after the main feature. Not available anywhere else I think.

The video tape (1987):
Barfko-Swill staff (1987) (3 min.)
Barfko-Swill tour (1987) (14 min.)
"Peaches En Regalia" (1987) (3 min.)

and definitely keep (if you have them):

The True Story Of 200 Motels
200 Motels
Uncle Meat
Video From Hell

not officially available on DVD, which is a shame, especially with 200 Motels, which is actually an entertaining, if flawed movie. I like its surrealistic style and strange plot. It would make a great two-fer with the True Story of 200 Motels and a 200 Motels CD reissue and an official release of the Groupie Opera demo from 1970, which only circulates in muffled high gen copies.

There was a 90 minute edit of Baby Snakes which went something like this
[source http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/videography/Baby_Snakes.html#BabySnakesShort]

The Short Version

Following the timing code from the DVD release, the 90 min. version of the movie went something like this:

0:00:00-0:02:10 [Baby Snakes Rehearsal/Kerry McNabb]
0: 07:47-0:16:25 [Warren/Baby Snakes/Bruce Bickford/"Disco Outfreakage"]
1:01:05-1:11:29 [Disco Boy/"Give People Somewhere To Xscape Thru"]
1:35:07-2:08:55 [Titties 'N' Beer/"Audience Participation"/The Black
Page #2 & "The Dance Contest"/Jones Crusher/Broken Hearts Are For Assholes/Punky's Whips]
1:29:34-1:34:15 [John Smothers/I'm So Cute]
2:10:35-2:37:08 [Dinah-Moe Humm/Camarillo Brillo/Muffin Man//San Ber'dino/Black Napkins]
1:34:15-1:35:07 ["Entertainment All The way"]
2:39:18-2:40:40 [Credits]
2:43:47-2:44:10 [End]

Maybe someone who still has that will help you out. I remember this was mainly Gerry Fialka showing off stuff Barfko had for sale at the time (circa 1987).
