1982 May 15

The Ahoy, Rotterdam, Netherlands

Liberated from Charlie's Favourite boot.

24bit 96kHz

Lineage:

Vinyl
Pioneer Turntable DJ-3500
Behringer DJX700
Realtek HD Audio card
Wavelab
dBpoweramp music converter
FLAC level 5

Contains all the pops and crackles you come to expect with bootleg vinyl

It has been quite the adventure getting this done. The Thorens turntable I normally use needs a service and is out of action. The DMX6fire sound card has packed it in so I can't use it. The end result is ok but there is a fair amount of eqiupment noise; you can hear it before the start of each side. When I get my regular equipment fixed or replaced I will do another capture.

Thanks buddyjones for sharing this transfer,
but I do agree that there is a significant level of DC hum (50 Hz) over the entire recording,
perceivable enough to be considered as "somewhat annoying".

Any chance that there will be a new capture coming soon
with your 'regular equiment' ?
Maybe worth the wait then.

Otherwise we could carry on working on this version,
and try 'filtering out' some of the hum noticed here.

I will have my regular turntable up and going soon. I will check if there is any improvement then. The hum wasn't heard until the recording was played back so I will have to try and isolate the problem.

I can't recall where I found this one. It could have been ebay or one of the record stores I found when travelling.
