Capitol Theater

Passaic, New Jersey USA

October 13th, 1978

LATE SHOW

Set List

Revenge Of The Knick Knack People/Tune Up
Persona Non Grata
Dancin' Fool
Easy Meat
Bamboozled By Love
Sy Borg
Suicide Chump
Little House I Used To Live In
Drum Solo
Yo' Mama
Magic Fingers
Black Napkins (a few seconds missing)
Camarillo Brillo
Muffin Man
Strictly Genteel (not listed on the FZ shows audio entry for this show)

The band; FZ, Ike Willis, Patrick O'Hearn, Denny Walley, Arthur Barrow, Vinnie Colaiuta, Ed Mann, Tommy Mars, Peter Wolf.

Just snatched the files from WGV and assembled them into this DVD, which I made using "Convert X To DVD" on the DVD-9 "Automatic" encoding setting. I made sure to get the biggest files available (most were 5100k) for each one. Picture quality is about par with the first show...typical Capitol Theater in-house video system, most likely recorded on half-inch open reel tape which is showing it's age. There are fuzzy spots, tracking difficulties and a somewhat murky picture in spots, but that's as good as it gets for this particular show. The soundboard audio is nice to have since all that was available before were audience captures. (not that there's anything wrong with that..!)

"Black Napkins" seems to be missing a few seconds as it fades out briefly and then rejoins the song. Looks like it might be due to a tape change as it's a little ragged going out and coming back in. "Strictly Genteel" is not listed on the FZ shows listing for the audience audio to this show so this could be a welcome new addition! This also features footage of FZ playing what appears to be the "Hendrix Strat" on "Yo' Mama" with a double coil humbucker in the middle position that appears to be taped on and several toggle switches I don't recall seeing in other pictures of the guitar.

Format-NTSC

Frame Rate-29.97 fps

Video Bit Rate 9003k

Audio Codec-AC3, 192k

File Size 6.74 GB

Source Lineage-MP4 video files from WGV (5100k bitrate)>Convert X To DVD (DVD-9 Automatic rate setting)>You

Chapter Stops on each song and every five minutes otherwise. Simple menu, no individual song selection.

Neato! Maybe you could do one that would cover both discs...ya know, as a two disc set so we could "discorporate" the early show with this one in one spiffy package?

Could you please post also the original files? I would like to make a DVD again with the complete sound as provided by flambay a short while ago. The picture obviously also needs some adjustment in the contrast department. The result should look like the early show I posted last year.

thx

If I get the chance I might put them in a folder and Dropbox them to you.

Anyone here capable of creating DTS audio with the board feed in the front channels and the audience master synchronized in the rear channels? Imagine that!
