Isn't track 13 by Ravel?

Probably Smile And I suspect that there are a few more unidentified composers in that lot too!

Many thanks for sharing these recordings from the Moo Aah Festival.

I kinda like this eclectic mix of material presented here by Spanner Jazz Punks.

Track 03 Punk Jazz Spanner sounds strongly inspired by Santana's Jingo Lo Ba.

Is Track 13 La Valse really from Ravel ?

Doh - And I just remembered "Directly from my heart to you" was Little Richard - sorry Mr Penniman.

Ditto re the thanks +1000000000 ! Gotta say it - THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST! I don't know them from Adam so thanks for sharing this! There is more of the ZAPPA SPIRIT here than the Band from Utopia and the Grandmothers combined. Great technicians those alumni may be but sometimes they just don't GEDDIT.... See Frank was a punk and he didn't even know it! Shocked Very Happy

thanks for the thanks. Endless hours of keeping still while constantly fighting the urge to say "Fuck it Im dancing" is hard, but worth it in the end. Well done all you other tapers out there!

And yeah - there are bands out there, playing in pubs and clubs for beer money that are absolutely amazing. SJP play monthly (I think - better check) in London and I bet there are several more like them. Hats off to Uncle Ian for finding them/booking them for the Moo Ahh and even bigger hats off to the SJPs for being splendid!

Have you heard a better "Directly...." intro (not on the record)? Goosebump stuff.

Cheers

Ob

I haven't noticed anyone post these vids here. Very nicely done.

Spanner Jazz Punks - 17 - Moo-ah! festival, March 2013

Spanner Jazz Punks@Festival MOO-AH! Corby

This intro to the band from their web site is a fun read.

- "Conceived in the cauldron of demon frontman Dan Spannerís maniacal mind, Spanner Jazz Punks are the troublesome offspring of a frenetic marriage between sleazy punk jazz and psychedelic performance art. With their roots in the legendary French chainsaw-juggling circus company Archaos, Spanner Jazz Punks have been steeped in a brew of psychedelic rock, ska, gypsy, klezmer and big band swing, and come out kicking, screaming and spinning yarns of quixotic, tragic, heroic neíer-do-well adventure."

edit: bazbo did post his vid HERE & HERE - bottom of page (?)
