If it's from '79 then I would think that it's from a Hammersmith show because the drums sound really good....doesn't sound like a road tape to me...I could be wrong though.

It is quite likely either from a broadcast, or something FZ was considering submitting for a broadcast, since I don't think there could be another explanation for the censorship. However, tracks 1-5 all segue, end with applause and a fadeout, and come in around the length of a typical early 80's FZ album side (~17 minutes) so those are reasons I brought up the "album side" idea.

Yes, that's true. Though some of the segues (and censorship) do seem rather crude, even for FZ. My guess is that Frank submitted a longer tape which was edited down and censored for broadcast. How was this tape labelled?

Listening to this, I think it's some sort of radio broadcast. All of the dirty words are censored, and some of the between-song editing is very crude, as though parts have been chopped out. It also seems that some of the material on "Remington Electric Razor" is lifted directly from these same tapes (the tacked-on drum beats before and coda after "Night Owl" are indicators), and it seems that "Remington" might have also been part of a radio program. It's very interesting, but I don't think it was intended for an LP project. And perhaps more importantly, it SOUNDS like a radio broadcast to me.

Yeah, that's what i thought too

It sounds like that "Pound" is more likely from 1979 than 1978.

I'll second this, based on being able to hear Warren's fairly distinctive 1979 guitar sound.

I checked on this briefly last night and it sounds like the Pound theme may be from 1979 02 18 (L) London, but it's hard to tell due to the poor sound of the audience tape circulating for that part of the show.

Drew may be able to mention more when he visits again, but he didn't mention any special info. The rest of the tape has some 60's History & Collected Improv outtakes, a few of the "Volman Field Recordings" and the Passaic 1974 Marty Perellis stuff. Most of it we already have, but there are a few unique bits and some that may be quality upgrades, so we will be sharing more of it soon.

It had a name, and that was all. No other info besides a set list was on the J-card. The name was

"The Extra Large Chicken Head Invasion "

I think Extra Large Outtakes is a good name for this based on this long name.
As Pat states it included the other outtakes mentioned. The Passiac 74 bit is probably an upgrade. Our current version is here:

Our current version has some damage in the right channel, this new version does not.
