The interview segment here was never on the tracker. As a matter of fact I have been looking for this for about 4 years. Thanks Rob!! Thanks to DoactorZap for the transfer (by my request).
The anal retentive collector in me is very pleased to fill this hole in the collection.
But now I need another mission quest! Well a number of audience tapes we know better copies exist, so i will be trying to pull them in...

Thank you.

Five minutes of this were released as bonus tracks on the Dime seed, but there is much more here.

Excited about this... a very big thankyou!

I always find the comment on Kronos' FAQ about this a little puzzling

"Q: Can you tell me more about your collaboration with Frank Zappa?

A: In 1984 Frank Zappa wrote a piece titled None of the Above for Kronos, but it has not been recorded. There are no plans to record any of Frank Zappa's works at this time. "

They mustn't have really loved it, because I am sure they realise a FZ piece on one of their albums would be a certain very good seller. Or maybe they met difficulties from the estate?

Yes makes me wonder? The Fireworks Ensemble I'm sure ran into that wall!

Yep, let's face it - when they commissioned a work from FZ they were probably expecting the kind of jazz/rock/classical crossover that would fit nicely in the repertoire they usually play, and instead they got... well, NOTA.

I say the ARDITTI quartet should record it. Except I think Irvine doesn't even know about the existence of that piece (or never cared to hear it).
