I was at a Mothers show in London in the late sixties. I'm not sure of the year or venue (though I guess it had to be 68/68 and the RAH or RFH). One clear memory I have is of Frank dealing with a heckler - "In America it's this (one finger), in England I believe it's THIS (two fingers/v sign). Can anyone identify the show from this information?

As emmapeelfanclub pointed out, this recording runs too fast, sounding a little more than one semitone too high in pitch (based on tracks 10-11). Since the material included here is quite unique, a speed corrected reseed of this tape would be much appreciated. I'd also suggest to split the first 4'30" of track 10 (intro + false starts) from the rest of the track.

An' before they get up I'll be gone

This is worth re-examining to bring up to current Zappateers standards (speed correction, check for upgrades or possible patches from the SBD).

Before the second set, FZ says, "We're going to play a song called 'Hot Rats'." (This has been edited out of Finer Moments.) As mentioned in another thread, this title appears to have been used for two different pieces that were performed in this set:

1. Low Budget, which is listed as Hot Rats in the session sheets for JLP's King Kong album.

2. Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue, which Don Preston said was originally known as Hot Rats.

I don't know which piece FZ had in mind when he mentioned this title at the RAH.

Speaking of EDMB, this performance has an additional module in the middle (1:051:48) that's not heard in other versions. I'm not sure, but I think this is the same thing that was played against Louie Louie and Sunshine Of Your Love in the passacaglia at several shows later in the summer of 1969 (7/5/69 Newport, 8/2/69 Central Park, 8/6/69 Highland Park).
