flambay for the pitch suggestions -
"Some tracks are still off pitch imo, but again
this must be inherent with the original recordings
or with some playback system (turntable pitch control) maladjustments."

OK, I missed a correction. It has been titled like this for half a decade, but only noticed now (argh!)
I must admit to ignoring the classical selections when i made corrections. Any others? Spelling etc.?
Thanks for the correction, I should have caught that, an excellent piece too, it's very cool.
Some of the selections Frank played were in bad shape. I did do some restoration of the vinyl, but only to the loudest and most obnoxious clicks and ticks. many, many remain. Although this holds up well, a very nice copy here.

Thanks for this. Wink

But let me get this right - you restored the vinyl clicks and ticks of the records that were
played by Zappa and the moderator on that day on the radio?

In such a case (radioshows) I would of course prefer the recording without restoration,
exept for the "real" glitches, for example attributable for the inadequacies of the FM recording
itself. For me it's unique, precisely because there are the very one clicks and ticks on these
records played on that very day.

You might have found it easier to patch the music parts with newly remasterd CD versions
of the songs. Very Happy (only joking)

However, a pure digitalisation of a vinyl record, with a restoration afterwards, is something
else entirely.

After downloading this show, I was reading the paper and saw a reference to this guy.

But it seems he was born in 1980, so it's probably not him.

Both vinyl and FM artifacts are throughout this recording. A couple items like one Beefheart tune, had so many flaws, it was IMHO unlistenable. So yes both were removed, the worst ones. As far as the aesthetics of vinyl clicks. I left many for you to enjoy...
Sorry I cannot stand the sound of large clicks, they add nothing for me. If I could not repair 100%, I left them in. The normal low sounding clicks were left in.
No sweeping of whole recording was done. Only looked at each bad glitch one at a time.
At times telling if they were caused by FM or vinyl was impossible to tell.

I considered that, but that would have degraded the quality. This sounds better to me. (no I'm not kidding)

You can add vinyl sound to any recording by the use of plug ins to audio editors. So if it is too clean for you, consider using this plug in.

I didn't say that I like the clicks and crackles of vinyl sound - to be honest, I hate it.
The clearer, the better. Wink

What I meant to say was quite another matter - I wouldn't touch the content of the broadcast.

Anyway, I like to make clear that I'm deeply grateful for your recording. Wink
