Just want everyone to know not all of these transfers will end up getting
the zappateers treatment

only the ones that are clearly upgrades to whomever it is that decides
which ones are ?

clearly we all have differant tastes and even those change
hell I used to love noise reduction, now not so much

all that being said sometime in the near future I will be
burnt out from all this

guess I am saying get them while they are available

I am keeping all these transfers archived on dvd @ 24/96

Downloading them all.

Don't know when I will ever find the time to sort them out myself but hey, I'm only 52.
Thanks for all transfers Doc

Really love your dedication.

Really appreciate the effort in all these transfers... hopefully you maintain the fire to get out quite a few more before you lose momentum!

Interested in checking out how this one sounds as its a favourite!

Seems to have a clearer first half than previously seeded version which was very muffled. I really love this broadcast.

This doesn't have the azimuth shift in the middle of the Inca Roads solo as the version I seeded, so yes, it should be better. Same source recording, unfortunately in mono, but it is nice to have an upgrade.

Not sure about the speed except that it is definitely slow in the first half, at least.

That is true, but sometimes different versions are allowed if difference is striking enough, and both have something to offer.

At times us editors decide, but the samples forum is open for all members to comment. When the editors decide it is obvious, and done to speed the process up (sorely needed with the bulk of material we have to deal with. We can at least push the obvious ones out.). Nothing is written in stone though. We reserve the right to change our minds at any time. Ideally all the membership can decide, if they would just choose to participate.

I think the shoebox clearly allows all low gens chosen or not.
We try to give the members what they want, and some want all these various versions. But yet not a free for all. Limiting it to low gens. Choice is always good, and even though I really have no decision power, clearly my view was considered, and yours is too.
When Mr T___ said he wanted no alterations to his file archives, we respected that, and allowed an exception, and in no way altered his file sets of interviews, the GSW project. When we really felt it was needed, we asked first.
Anyway sorry to rant a touch, just I think some acknowledgement should be given to the site. The site at least in good faith tried to accommodate the contributors, and members. Heck the shoebox was made with you in mind. It turned out to be useful to many members. It was a good idea. When you have thousands of members and hundreds of contributors, no way will you ever please all.
What really irks me on other sites is how they butcher shows, removing a song from an audience tape, when a sbd of it is released. Creating all these inferior, and ruined file sets. The last three items like this on Dime, I asked the seeder if it was available elsewhere, and got no response to all three. This creates instant garbage, what a crying shame! I'll never understand why collectors would accept censorship of historic recordings. Taking a chance that history will be lost. One of these three, only a part of a song was released, and the whole song was not allowed (history lost). Here we do not do that, and when we combine sources, we offer sub-folders with original cuts. This site may not be perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better then any of the others.
