it is true kendun was a mastering engineer

Kent Duncan

matrix numbers ?

It’s not that fake test pressing sold on ebay some years ago.
It has “KENDUN-D 1” and “KENDUN-D 2”
The bootleg or fake test-pressing has “ZB-1-A” and “ZB-1-B”

You can guess, theorize, hypothesize, imagine, say what you want about Crush All Boxes. I lived then in near Buffalo NY, and still do. A local radio station got this, broadcast it in it's entirety. I could not give a shit on one single detail, I recorded it on cassette from the radio. I do not care when I got it, how it I got it, why it it was on the radio, or how the radio station got it. At that time I had something that is not available. (at that time).

I went to a store with my parents as a young teenager, bought Zappa product on vinyl. My parents whined about stereo on records, they cost 2 times the cost of mono and our record player did not play stereo.

Anyhow, I divorced in 1979, the tape sat in a box I never got back, it went to a landfill. If I listened to this once, I listened to it 1000 times, even though all of these songs came out elsewhere, I had the "Best", the "Original" the "Forbidden, obtained from God knows who, why and where. Thanks to the collective efforts of this group of fanatics like me, I got it back, then got it again, and again, and each version is closer to what I remember that one single night in 1980 or 1981 or who knows, when my local FM radio station said, get your tape player ready, here it is.

To this day, nearly 20 years later, it is still one of my all time TOP 3 favorites. It probably should not be, so many others were more significant, like One Size Fits All, Apostrophe, Roxy, Money, Best Band, Make A Jazz Noise, Shut Up, Lumpy and so on, but to me, I had something you did not. To me, I had the best.

You guys rock, long may Zappateers live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sound quality is better than I would expect from an acetate, and would FZ have been taking an acetate on tour and playing it on the radio?

Would this have been a 2-sided album? If so, does anybody know where the break between Side 1 and Side 2 would have taken place?

Can't stand the YAWYI mastering, such a waste of a great production work. Thanks for this one!
