Frank Zappa
KPPC 106.7 FM Pasadena, CA
1968 11 27

~ Master Clone CDR source ~

We are once again pleased to present another stunning upgrade of one of my favorite radio shows in FZ history. If you've heard this before, you'll be thrilled by the depth and clarity of this upgrade. If this is your first time, be ready for a fantastic trip back in time. Like the KSAN radio show presented earlier, the clues and insights into FZ's influences are everywhere. DJ Les Carter & FZ seem to be enjoying themselves immensely on this date and FZ responds with probably one of his loosest interviews heard on tape. You don't have to be an FZ fan to enjoy this one!

These bio notes were provided to me by Drew:

Ted Alvy is a former staff member of KPPC.

Program Director, LES CARTER (Leslie "Frogman" Carter at times) brought many amazing personalities to the
airwaves at KPPC during 1968 thru 1971 including Frank Zappa on Thanksgiving Eve 5pm - 8 pm November 27, 1968

KPPC-FM 106.7 PASADENA, CALIFORNIA located in the basement of the Pasadena Presbyterian Church,
and broadcasting hippie rebop from November 1, 1967 until the entire KPPC-FM airstaff was fired on October 24, 1971

I've decided to label all the "discussions" as such. Please note that many contain live commercials that either Carter or FZ read as well as preambles to the next tracks. Splitting them doubled the amount of tracks so it seemed unnecessary. Plus, most of the dialog is hillarious so worth listening through! The pre-recorded commercials are separated.

The second Laurie Sisters song, which Les Carter interrupts, is No Chance, the flip side of Dixie Danny.

The song "It's Hot" is not by Johnny Guitar Watson, it's by Gene And Billy and was released on the "Spark" label.

Thanks for the correction. I've alerted Oscar so he can update FZShows.
