Shortly we will be presenting the Lincoln Center Tribute on 1993 02 27. I would suggest you check this out to get a heads up on what will be presented at this show. Interesting that it is stated show was not recorded. So the show we will present is the only known version at this time. An upgrade to the show is more then welcome, and to this interview too!

Thanks Drew. Hope the interview is more interesting than the concert itself. I was not very impressed by these performances when I saw them on video. Maybe a good reason to revisit this and give it a good listen after the interview. _________________ 'Some of you might think this is weird . . .

I liked the orchestral work by Thome and this tribute is just that, a mostly instrumental presentation. The only song with lyrics is Inca Roads. Although I have not heard this show in a long time. i can't even locate my tape of it. So I'm looking forward to the show too, although it is rather poor quality from what i understand? Maybe we will get an upgrade?
Having a litle trouble with bandwidth, so hang in there!
What is it with Detroit people being DJ's in NYC?? Tomcat, Stern, hey find your own Dj's!! Give us back ours!
Well at least you have good taste, I'll give you that!! I actually used to listen to Stern before he made it big in NYC. Why i even remember him is how funny he was and his insistance that country music sucks, it was funny. then to hear him for a day or two DJ country music when his station WWWW (W4) went all country! That was so funny, I never forgot it. I thought that's what you get for dogging it so much! Ha! I guess in the long run it made his career as he left town and hit it big in NYC. It was a couple years before i realized this Howard Stern guy was that guy here in Detroit! Ha!

Many thanks, new interviews to these ears... As for the Zappa's Universe shows, I rather enjoyed Waka Jawaka and Dweezil's soloing on Chunga's Revenge, not to mention Mike Keneally's mimic of FZ's Any Kind Of Pain solo....also thought The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing version was quite fine.
yours in FZ,
mike

Yes, but we have Mike and Orchestra Of Our Time, so it is a similiar beast. often though people are saying this is not ZU II, agreed, but it is the same musicians minus a few, Mats and Morgan, Keneally, the orchestra are here, so to me more similar then different! Oh thanks to Bengo, we have another related interview coming. i need to wait till flambay can check pitch, he always has lot's to do!
