Main objective here was to have all currently available AUD material (lowest possible gen versions)
put together in one seed.

You can take the last 5 tracks from this seed (incl. Bobby Brown)
and combine them to your own liking with either of our current SBD seeds.

the first ten seconds of the famous aria from Carmen (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djsuP0uta7s) can be sort sort heard at 7:19-7:29. Don't know if I call it a quote. Very tenuous, but it's there, and whoever spotted it had a good ear for Bizet.

Thanks to Drew51, doctorzap & flambay. Zappacheers!

Excellent sound! The quality of the recordings lately are outstanding. Very Happy

I love the late show tapes and this is a goody!
The crowd is really into it, man. rasta
They don't call it Stony Brook for nothing, dude.

Fantastic concert right from the start and Frank's guitar work is already smoking by Easy Meat.
Two bass players, two keyboardist, percussion . . .
Denny's soulful singing/slide guitar and let's not forget Vinnie's seal calls.
The first night without Ike. There must be a story somewhere about his mid-tour departure? Confused

You get your monie's worth with 'A Pound For Brown' tonight folks. This particular 'Brown' weighs over 27 minutes! Shocked

Don't forget to buy a Stony Brook Concert t-shirt on the way out. Neutral

And don't miss the after-show jam, Frank has with Sophia Warren available here. Cool

The way Zappa develops songs on the road (sometimes for years before official releases), reminds me of how the Marx Bros. polished their acts on the vaudeville circuit before filming them in Hollywood. Watch the 1980 Paris DVD for Frank's very Groucho-like dance moves!

I don't think it very common to develop your material in front of your audience. hmm Maybe in the jazz world?

Ike's explanation (quoted by a guy I knew in the 90's): he was having attitude problems and Gail told FZ to suspend Ike from the band for a while.

Ed Mann's explanation (on a.f.f-z a few years ago): Ike was having health problems and FZ decided to rest him in preparation for the demanding winter tour of Europe coming up in a few months

common fan explanation: Ike was busted for pot in London in September, although why FZ waited a month to kick him out over this isn't clear
