Frank Zappa & The Grand Wazoo Orchestra

Deutschlandhalle
Berlin (West), Germany
1972 09 15

~~ from Audience Master Reel CD-R Clone ~~

Kindly contributed by the owner of the original Master Reel tape (Mr.Reel).

Complete, patched with material from inferior sounding fill source of unknown origin,
as in previous Yojimbo MC seed (from same source): http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5930

Basically the same as our previous Yojimbo MC seed,
with these differences:
1) The Phase inversion, as heard on the original CD-R and also in Yojimbo's seed, has been fixed.
2) This new CD-R transfer does include the full ending (flawed, lower volume level) of Uncle Meat, as opposed to the previous seed.
The patch from that inferior sounding source sets in with the applause after Uncle Meat here.

Huge thanks for this. I can't get enough of the Grand Wazoo. At one time I thought that I would never get to hear a live recording of the Wazoo, but then I discovered Zappateers. I remember my first listening session #188 when we listened to Yojimbo's Hollywood Bowl recording. The up tempo of Regyptian Strut completely blew my mind.

rock on!

the lineage on the fill source is

master reel to reel > reel to reel >Echo gina sound card > soundforge > possibly used DART ?
thats why the extreme filtering > cdr > ?

if I get my hands on a working reel to reel will do this source again
with no noise reduction of course

Upgrades are a fanatically cool thing. Many thanks!

I cannot recall if I have ever made an association between The Grand Wazoo and the phrase "up the wazoo" - has anyone else?
