Could this be another two sides from the legendary 10-LP box? Whatever it is, I can't wait to check it out. Many thanks!!!

Yes, it must be.

Interestingly, this acetate contains material from the "Columbia" acetate, suggesting they are from two different projects or perhaps two different stages of the same project?

Acetate label attribution: “Shrine Auditorium”

• Time – 3:04
• Official releases – Unreleased.
• Source – There is no record of FZ playing the Shrine Auditorium prior to 23 February 1974. An informed guess: 6-7 December 1968, The Shrine Exposition Hall, Los Angeles CA.

I have a Fleetwood Mac album "Shrine '69", which was recorded on January 25th 1969. The liner notes say that Zappa also played that night, as does Charles Ulrich's site (http://members.shaw.ca/fz-pomd/giglist/1969.html).

Interestingly, the notes are also rather specific about the recording technology for the Fleetwood Mac recording (which sounds great BTW!).

"From Tychobrae Sound's house sound system using a modified Fairchild mixing console with one line out to and Ampex 2-track recorder. Recorded mono, 2-track. 7.5 IPS on Scotch 201 tape".

Maybe this same system was used for this Mothers track?

Yeah, it's a mystery. Mention of a 9, then 10, even 12 record sets in various interviews. Frank never stopped tinkering too...

Great info about Fleetwood Mac being there, good catch bigtyke66!
