Theme from Run Home Slow comes to mind. likewise Holiday In Berlin originally appears as a central theme in World's Greatest Sinner.

It's been a while since I listened to World's Greatest Sinner, but isn't Duke of Prunes also in there somewhere?

Edit: Nevermind, it's from Run Home Slow, and was released on the Mystery Disc. Another cue later became part of The Idiot Bastard Son. There's a very thorough examination of Run Home Slow on IINK

Imaginary Diseases 1972 - 2006.

But maybe that doesn't fit with the spirit of the thread - in effect it didn't get released, until someone was tidying up loose ends way, way later.

And doesn't the first phrase of the motive recur in Treacherous Cretins too (although in a different harmonic environment)?

Hmmm, it's been a long time since the last time I've listened to SUNPYG, I'm not sure what you mean by "first phrase" but I'll have to check on that... thanks!

I forgot to follow up on this one: What I mean is the first 7-note melody after the guitar solo in Inca Roads (F#-G-A-F#-G-F#-E) versus the first guitar melody of Treacherous Cretins (on SUNPYG, and most or all other live versions, I think) (C#-D-E-C#-D-C#-H-H). Rhythmically and harmonically different, but too close to be coincidental, I say.

I've just checked it and yes, I have to agree with you! As a matter of fact in TC it appears more similar to the original form from Holiday in Berlin.

The quote is not registered in Román's site, you should tell him about it Wink

Cool - I wasn't aware of what you both wrote above.

But then again it also took me ages to recognise "Bwana Dik" is a reworking of the opening "Lumpy Gravy"-theme.

Embarassed Ok, I have to admit I'm learning something too here... Embarassed

Any Kind Of Pain - first played in 1976, not released until 1989.

Along with Any Kind Of Pain, lyrics from Bamboozled By Love were recited during an October 1976 concert, the actual song wasn't released until 1981
