1971 05 22 Delaware, OH - Aud 70min A-/B+ Crying or Very sad
not available
note: only heavily nr versions have circulated: from stuhanson (66.21) and from ninja (72.10)

Here's another Crying or Very sad that badly needs to be deleted, a very listenable tape including Twenty Small Cigars and a full Billy The Mountain. I have two tapes, one sounding slightly better, but only 45 minutes, missing the first 21. The complete one is from drdork (~66 min), so if we need to use it, we can possibly save one gen by getting it from him.
Samples are from:
01 start of tape (from drdork tape)
02 Twenty Small Cigars (cuts in, from drdork)
03a Low Budget/Billy The Mountain (from drdork)
03b Low Budget/Billy The Mountain (start of incomplete version)
04 Studebaker Hoch (mid-side, incomplete version)
05 King Kong (end of tape, incomplete version)

I was wondering about this show today - if it would ever appear - it's the only decent F&E tape I've yet to hear.

Here at Zappateers, it's never a question of if something will appear, only when. Wink

That's funny--my copy is from Yojimbo!

Actually, I have two overlapping partial copies, only one of which is from you. Maybe you lost yours and got a replacement back from me.

The one you got from me should be the better sounding one, which only has the last 45 min, starting with Low Budget. The other one, with the beginning of the show, is the one I got from you, and you must have gotten it from someone else.
Can you transfer the first 21 min of that tape and send through FTP? Or do we need to go through globual if we want to use your tape?
Meanwhile, if someone else has anything worth comparing, speak up now, or I will proceed with the versions sampled here.

FWIW here's some pitch correction suggestions (roughly) for these samples

01 start of tape (from drdork tape) +30cts
02 Twenty Small Cigars (cuts in, from drdork) +30cts
03a Low Budget/Billy The Mountain (from drdork) +40cts
03b Low Budget/Billy The Mountain (start of incomplete version) +80cts
04 Studebaker Hoch (mid-side, incomplete version) +40cts
05 King Kong (end of tape, incomplete version) +30cts

I'm suspecting some pitch level variation under way throughout this recording.
Part of it may need a closer look at warble trouble spots.

I'm not set up to do it. I've put this tape on the stack of tapes for globual.

Any word on this tape? I just heard one of the old versions (uploaded on Zomb) and it's a very unpleasant listen. You can tell there is potential with the recording, it's just been remastered to death.

Samples from drdork's tape copy/globual transfer are up here for comparison: http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=19121

Maybe comparing these helps sorting out which parts are suited to be used for the definitive seed in FZ Shows.

The drdork version ends with Billy The Mountain, no King Kong there.
Total time about 50.30 min.
