Frank Zappa
Royal Oak Music Theatre
Royal Oak, MI
1988 02 27

~~ source #1: from Drew51 1st gen Aud cassette, new transfer ~~

Complete, with patches from JS-doctorzap MC (source #2)

"Boy, do we have a show for you tonight !! ..." - FZ

And we're planning to have at least three versions of this terrific show up in FZ Shows, eventually.

Number One: This new transfer from Drew51's 1st gen cassette (A- stereo)
which should be seen as an upgrade to his previous transfer of the same cassette source
(1988 02 27 Royal Oak MI 130.20 AUD 1st gen (Drew51), in the Shoebox):
- new NAK CR-7A transfer
- speed corrected
- patched-to-complete with JS-doctorzap MC source material,
including about 20 min additional Intermission background music material (synclavier + Michael Hedges)

Number Two: JS-doctorzap MC version (A- mono), currently seeded in the Shoebox.

Number Three: Pat F.-Drew51 MC version, slightly inferior sounding (B+/B stereo) and incomplete, for collectors and (in)completists.

But first things first, here's version "Number One". Enjoy !!

Very cool, so this is going to be even more material then i have heard together. As close to being back there, that night, as possible. What a night this was. Very huge surprise to hear Beatle songs. Being a huge fan of Lennon (Power To The People-not government-stay in bed please). World premieres, one time only versions, Lennon based Beatle songs... A show doesn't get much better. Thanks again for getting this one in best condition.

This is a true update, the sound is better. Bwana Dek (CR-7A) made a difference. Some significant other upgrades: A closer look at pitch. Superior sounding patches, and integrated into recording better then i can do.

That is my friends favorite song, and i offered him free tickets, he didn't go. It was worth it just to play that for him, A cool version too. He feels sick about it now. I was in about the 12th row for this one. 5th row the next night, and did get a copy recorded although the deck messes up at times, I threw the deck out afterwards.
Bought a D-6, wish i had it this night!

This was the first '88 show I heard - on a cassette bootleg titled (I believe) "This Baffling World." I loved it a lot at the time, but I haven't listened to it in prolly 20 years. I have been anxiously awaiting this one in Zappateers-approved form.

THANKS SO MUCH!
