Turns out the original seed had not only one, but two small digital flaws in "Montana". Both have now been fixed, and those of you who downloaded the original version, and/or the first fix, need to do the following (again):
* Delete "1975 05 23 El Paso TX - 12 Montana.flac"
* Delete "1975 05 23 El Paso TX 92.13 SBD 2nd (Yojimbo).ffp.txt"
Then press "Download" again, and you should be starting at a high percentage. Sorry 'bout this!

Frank Zappa
County Coliseum
El Paso, Tx
1975 05 23

~~ From 2nd gen SBD tape ~~

This tape surfaced in 1997, when a trader got in touch with a roadie. Up until then, we hardly had anything decent sounding from the Bongo Fury tour, so this quickly became a very popular show.

FZShows entry:

1975 05 23 - County Coliseum, El Paso, TX
90 min, SBD, A
With Jimmy Carl Black on guest vocals (*)
Improvisations, Apostrophe, Stinkfoot, I'm Not Satisfied, Carolina Hard-Core Ecstasy, Velvet Sunrise, A Pound For A Brown, You're So Fine*, Lonely Lonely Nights*, Debra Kadabra, Montana, improvisations (incl. The Hook, q: Hall Of The Mountain King), Advance Romance, Florentine Pogen

This version: 92:13 min, SBD, A

Lineage: 2nd gen SBD tape (Maxell XLII) > Denon DRM-800A > M-Audio Audiophile 2496 > SoundForge 9.0 (speed correction, editing, tracking) > FLAC Frontend level 7

Taped by: R. the roadie
Transferred by: Yojimbo
Edited by: Yojimbo

Setlist:
01 intro and tune-up
02 improvisations
03 Apostrophe
04 Stinkfoot

Hoping this will be an upgrade of the bootleg, "El Paso or Die". Two disc set, the first being this show, the second is Kyoto 4 Feb 76. Thanks for sharing.

yours in FZ,
mike

No doubt it is as we knew this trader in Georgia. And the roadie does have the rest, and others but the trader was unable to pursaude him to release more.

Maybe we should all chip in and send this old roadie a persuasive groupie-stripper gram....

Thanks for this one!

hhe, yeah whatever it takes! I talked to this trader on the phone about this. The guy was super paranoid. The roadie that is. A shame as now most tapes from 75 have to be baked. Soon, that will not even help. Don't expect great early finds, probably lost for good now.
