I shall be back in 1978 for a while

'78 was a fantastic year for me (22 years old and having a ball) so I'll join you there!
Thanks to the team for the upgrade.

Thank You to all.

So he goes back to his ugly little room and quietly dreams his last imaginary guitar solo . . .

This upgrade is more about presenting a little better lineage. No CDR in lineage which do introduce errors. Although for the most part these errors are not audible anyway. Still we have a cleaner lineage. When both the 1st gen and this master are EQ'ed to sound alike, they sound just about the same. For a master this seems to have a lot of hiss. I have found that normal bias masters due tend to have hiss anyway. High bias, it's almost gone on master tapes. Maybe it could be Dolby? Maybe it really is a first gen? I can only take the word of the owner. So please don't throw anything out, you may find you prefer the first gen. Decide yourself what you prefer. I see no harm in presenting different dub lines. Variety is good, when we have such high quality variety as we do here. Even more so for a show this good, shit this is one of my favorite shows ever.

For those of you into this sorta thing, one can actually hear Hank himself at multiple points of the show, as he is accosted by various security personal. My favorite comes towards the end of Magic Fingers, where from out of nowhere, a very intimidating voice demands, "give me your tapes, and your batteries", in a tone which inspires that deep oh shit... reaction in anyone who's ever stealthed a show. Hank then explains that he's legit, and making the tape at the bequest of... well, I won't spoil the surprise Very Happy

Other highlights here are Little House, where someone in the crowd goes absolutely apeshit during Tommy's rinky-dink playful-pretty Michael Feinstein-style piano solo, and of course, the legendary performance of Black Napkins (easily the finest Black Napkins I've ever had the pleasure of hearing, only the 76/77 mini-monsters even come close), where Frank just cannot. stop. soloing.

Big thanks for this, Drew & F. thumbsup
