**PLEASE PLAY LOUD AND ENJOY!!

Here's one I recorded myself. Not bad at all considering the equipment used.
I traded this out on cassette many years ago, but this is the first digital copy of my master.
Age of tape is showing in spots, but an enjoyable listen for sure. The tape flips were a little
rough at the beginning of "King Kong" and the start of drum solo in "Let's Move To Cleveland".
This one is commonly called the late show, but it is definitely the 8:00 PM early set, I swear!
Hope ya likes it,
Bluesdevil

This is the surprise I mentioned in my MOI Miami '69 torrent thread.
Hope this earns me one of those cool cassette tape icons under my name!

Many thanks, Bluesdevil, for sharing your Master tape of this show here with us,
and thanks for clarifying the Early/Late show confusion around this date,

So, is Sunrise FL a city/municipality in its own right, and not 'just' a suburb of Ft.Lauderdale ?

Looking forward to hear this show.

headbanger ROCK!! headbanger

You sir, in no small way, are my FUCKING HERO!!!!!

This is easily my favorite show of the 84 tour, hands down. Probably makes my top 20 FZshows of all time. I've had a tape copy of this show for 10+ years and it sounds rancid. I'm drooling while this thing d/l's. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

So, bluesdevil, babe, dude, sir....if this is the early show, is the one commonly labled the early show actually the late and did you tape it, as well?

Again, i've been waiting to see this show on the tracker since day one. I can't thank you enough.

P.S. Are you also the taper of the Sunrise, FL 1980 shows? The late show has an extremely rare setlist choice and I would love to see the definitive version of that.

Thanks everybody! I intended to seed this raw until I heard how disgustingly tinny it was... it's been 15 or so years since I've listened to it. If you want to play around with remastering it by EQing to your taste, you can have it, I did nothing but add some bottom to fill it out.... no compression, limiting, noise reduction or other destructive processes.
Actually, the question I'm asking myself is why didn't I transfer this to 24 bit. hmm

Flambay: Sunrise is definitely it's own city, but folks down here have a habit of calling that whole area Ft. Lauderdale.

Hey Teasea - I think you're the one that got me to dig this out when I read that "wanted" post. I only went to the early show..... sorry. Well, double sorry!! I'm surprised this has never appeared on the tracker in some form....I traded it out to some heavy Zappa collectors back in the tape trading days.

Thanks very very much bluesdevil. Love your recording! Good sound.
Little puzzled though
According to FZ shows this is the late show
But, you were there Smile so ....
Do I rename the late from walk and the early from av
Seems like walk did get a copy of your tapes, seems the same source. Same screemer next to the taper at the beginning of zoot allures. Same tape flips according to info-files, but wow, the MC version !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to hear the raw version
Maybe by boosting the bass a sort of rumble apears in the low mids and low. but it could be my soundcard, I still have to listen on my "good sound system pc)
But maybe I'm asking to much.

BTW, the "rumble" disappears after the first songs
Man I love the solo in trouble every day
Sound is excelent during this.

Thanks again

ps
rumble = a mic thing ?

Frank

I think so, since he was there. Coincidentally, the same confusion exists about the shows a week earlier in Chicago. In past tours FZ was usually helpful in announcing "welcome to the second show" or "[insert city here] number two!" but not in 1984.
