unicrayon's notes:
I synched all the video tracks up with the Adam's audio, did as much editing as possible to remove any bad camera movement. There was some damage to one DV tape, so there are a few less than perfect x-fades, but other than that it's quite professional Smile

=======

This show was part of the Totnes Festival. It's an annual week of local arts and music held in different venues, at the waterfront and in the streets in and around Medieval Totnes.
The Mother People are a nine piece band formed in 2008, and this was the band's 2nd gig after many rehearsals of Lewis Riley's arrangements.
I'd heard there was a band who were going to play some FZ covers a few days before the show, and rang Lewis, to find out if any recording was going to be done. He said "No, concentrating on the music was going to be hard enough!" I agreed Smile

The recording came together in a couple of days. The sound guy was set up to record and mix down, the videographer needed to test some equipment and the entire arrangement went without a hitch, and two weeks later we had finalized the DVD.

This isn't the whole show. The first minute of Let's Turn The Water Black is missing due to some audio problems, and there were four other tracks played at the end ... The band was joined on stage by a lot of students from King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC) and to include that part of the show we'd have needed permission from their parents. The omitted tracks were, Dog Breath, Son Of Mr Green Genes, Take Your Clothes Off and a final encore of Sofa.

Will there be an audio release to include the missing tracks ?

Interesting question ....
I know David offered to edit the last tracks on the video last week so the kids could have a private copy. I think he'll use the audio from one of the camera mics. I know the mixed down audio isn't complete ... doubling the size of the band, four more brass, extra drummers, two guitars and bass, two keyboards made it difficult to work with from the board.

I saw the band again last night in a different town, trying out new segues, everyone sight reading and every solo improvised and quite a lot of changes to some songs. There's a single audience recording on a Zoom that I might be able to release here if the band agrees ... that depends on whether it's good enough quality Smile

Hi unicrayon,

This is really great stuff. I gave it a thorough listen on my KRK's. Sounds good and looks good. Thanks for seeding. Have to burn this on DVD to play on large screen and proper volume downstairs.

Greetings,
