Total time (after speed corr.) 48.28 min

walk Notes:
the original CDR i got had a different order of the tracks, i changed this to fit JN's list;
but i changed JN's order of Sinister Footwear/What's New In Baltimore?/Truck Driver Divorce to Sinister Footwear/Truck Driver Divorce/What's New In Baltimore?, since i think Truck Driver Divorce fits perfect after Sinister Footwear, which indicates they are from the same show

pbuzby Notes:
Sexual Harassment is from 12/12/81 #2.
Basic track of Frogs is from 12/11/81 #1.
Sinister Footwear is from multiple dates - intro is from 11/15/81 #1, solo is from 11/17/81.
Solo in Truck Driver Divorce is from Zoot Allures on 11/17/81.
Baltimore is also from multiple dates - Tommy's synth solo is from 12/10/81 and the guitar solo is partly from 11/15 #2 and partly from 11/21/81.

flambay notes:
All tracks are sounding excellent, but each of them do need a closer look at speed correction, sometimes including pitch bend.
Now all of them should be sounding like their officially released counterparts.

credits:
thanks to P for the CDR
thanks to walk for the first seed of this compilation
thanks to pbuzby for the additional source notes

out of the zappateers vault
a walk seed,
and a flambay speed corrected re-seed

enjoy !!!

I'm currently posting this (full) seed in Samples & Fills to give others the opportunity to verify and speak up in case they have an equally good sounding tape (not CD-R) sourced version of this recording to offer here, perhaps including the missing tracks, listed here and in FZshows/unreleased.

Perhaps 02 Teenage Wind and 03 Society Pages are identical with some of the versions
in one of our YAWYI or Thing Fish Outtakes seeds, that's something I'm hoping for us to get sorted out here.

06 The Dangerous Kitchen should probably be the same as in Yojimbo's 1981 12 11 outtakes 11.09 2nd gen SBD seed.

In case no better sounding or more complete version (or with 'better' lineage) shows up, this seed could eventually move over to FZ Outtakes/Unreleased.

The original CDR had three tracks seguing, Baltimore -> Easy Meat solo -> Mo's. I'm curious whether this sequence was created by FZ or a trader.

Thanks pbuzby for partially answering a question already
that I have been always meaning to ask to walk (or anybody else who might know this):

What's the original overall track order of this CD-R before the tracks got re-arranged for this seed to match the info given in FZshows ?
Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for the info, Pat.

I happen to prefer hearing these tracks in that order rather than in the order as seeded.
Seems like some tracks are purposefully edited that way to fit this order as compiled for the CD-R,
Easy Meat solo is perfectly segueing into Mo's Vacation.

You know I agree with you flambay....I like listening to it that way. It's almost like it is a missing Zappa release or something. Thanks for seeding this, I love these alternate versions and unedited solos. This is turning into one of my favorites.

Thank you very much Flambay for these speed corrected versions. As I pointed out elsewhere, Mo's vacation was clearly too high pitch. This new version is very good, but I'm still not completely sure about the very first seconds of MV, which seem to be a little higher in pitch than the rest of the track. In other words, I think the long A at about 0:06 is in tune, but the very first notes (the low C of the bassoons, the first G of the clarinet etc.) sound a little bit higher. Anyway, this new, speed corrected set is really appreciated!

The CDR's originate probably from Rob Samler. I thought his versions were pretty good, I have a set from another source. Mine has one flaw not present on these versions. I should look into it now that I have a better deck. Rob did other CDR's of outtakes, I have at least one other. It's possible NR and EQ were used on the CDR's I have though. Blackpage probably knows more as i never knew Rob and blackpage was my source for the CDR's I have.
My alternate source of these does not include the first three tracks (original order). I obtained those tracks though as separate outtakes. I think this version is superior to mine, but I guess I should check just in case i missed something.

I don't have really nothing to add here. The tracks are superior to mine.

Thanks Mr. walk and Mr. flambay. I'm listening to the original seed (in the CDR order) while downloading this speed adjusted version. We're Turning Again sung by Thing-Fish. Nice! Very Happy
