Last year I purchased two NL cassettes of Joe's Garage at Ebay:

Joe's Garage - Act 1 / CBS 40-86101 / Made in Holland
Joe's Garage - Act 2&3 / CBS 40-88475 / Made in Holland

So, the missing edition syntax here should be:
28 JG1 NL CBS 40-86101 1979 S CASS
29 JG2+3 NL CBS 40-88475 1979 S CASS

29 JG2+3 UK CBS CBS 88475 1979 S 2LP Label: MCPS/BIEM; S CBS 88475 left, S CBS 84019 right; LC0149 left; Hit Songs Limited / FOC: CB 252 (61) / GZ: 115-5

I get 2 versions of this one:

one with Foc: "interpak II by shorewood packaging Co. Ltd., England" so, everythings seems ok for the UK version

The other one with Foc : "Interpak II printed in Holland" exact same as NL version, is it possible ????
(Everything seems ok, the lyrics sheet as UK one, the sleeves "made in Great Britain")

There is another difference in label (see pics)

Is the EMI CD differently mastered from other non UMe CDs?

Don't know if the CD mastering is the same, but it's the same digital transfer.

"Joe's Garage" seems to mark the only time that the EMI CD and the Ryko CDs use the same digital transfer of an album not originally recorded digitally
(this makes sense, given how late "Joe's Garage" came out on CD on EMI).

One oddity, though: the phrase "Church-oriented social activities" has a bit of a quirk, and actually comes out "Church-oriented social activities social activities."
[Ed: This is clearly just a digital glitch, and not an "unedited" cut] Eh? Does this also happen on the "Digitally Remastered vinyl?"

I recently got these 2:

28 Joe's Garage Act 1:
28 JG1 US ZAPPA SRZ-1-1603 1979 S LP Promo ?

29 Joe's Garage Acts 2 & 3:
29 JG2+3 US ZAPPA SRZ-2-1502 1979 S 2LP Promo ?

I wonder if they really are Promo editions. They are still in the shrink and don't know if I really want to open them. My doubt comes from the golden stamps on the back covers.
There are also "Warnings" inside the shrinks (JG1's with the release # ref., JG2+3's without - For this one, the release # ref. is on a separate sticker on the front cover).
See the attachment for the details.
As far as I can see both covers/spines are identical to the US ones' (first releases).

Have you ever seen them?

Hmmm, i have seen the Warning-inserts, at an exhibition in Larvik, prolly from Hakan Busterode's (Sp.?) collection, maybe they also had this special gold stamp - didn't check that close. And even if, i have no idea about the legitimacy of these issues, maybe someone else knows more - Bengo?

AFAIK they are legitimate "promo issues", but they are just the regular pressings/albums with the added stamp and sticker.
