I think i remember having heard/seen that one as well, even with pics, but it escapes me now where it had been.... origins from either Asia or Saudi Arabia, IIRC....

Saudi Arabia - they re-issued lot and lots of cassettes in the 70s and 80s - I always thought them of questionable legitimacy - largely die to the shoddy image reproductions, shitty paper used, and lack of any sort of official information. However, cruising around some of the Floyd sites makes me think they may be genuine licensed releases.

MsPinky thinks(!!!) this has to go to a new topic - ZINY "The Black Page #1" goes into "Big Leg Emma"

23 ZINY US DISCREET 2D 2290 RE-1 1978 S 2LP Cover indicates "Punky's Whips", but deleted / Matrix Side1: ????

I have a copy of this and the matrix on side 1 is: 2D-1-2290 RE 1 LW2

(pressed by Capitol Records, Los Angeles, California.)

"Punky's Whips" is listed on the backside and inside with lyrics and Terry holding a picture of Punky.

"edit": It would be interesting to know if it was only LA pressings that came with Punky's cover.. Anyone else that can check the matrix side 1 on this record?

Just noticed that my copy of the ZINY LP is kinda weird. The sleeve says Printed in the USA ; it has the reference 2D 2290 inside the gatefold and on the spine. But the discs are french, bearing the reference 69204, the SACEM logo and with the running order A/D/B/C. They are pressed by MPO. No mention of Punky's Whips.
Is this a common combination ?

Not that i know of, but we're gonna look into it when we reach ZINY in the update-process. Meanwhile, it would be cool if you could post a picture of the label of side 1 Smile

Is there a worth mentioning difference between GZ 100-2 and GZ 100-3, beside the convex ring on the edge of the label, shown on GZ 100-3?

I think it may be, just to be in sync with GZ. Not sure how GZ comes to the conclusion that one is from 1977 and the other from 1978. There may be a difference in the cover though, would be great if somebody could check. I can't help as I only have the UK 'Punky's' pressing.

To the chrisfromparis question. I believe that this combination US/Sacem does not exist, looks like a later 'marriage'. The Sacem disc should have the sleeve
with the (2 x U) on the back, Distributed by WEA filipacchi.

Can you please verify or correct for GZ 100-1:

Matrix Side 1: K 69204 A ALLEN
Vinyl: black (not "translucent red")
Sides 1,2,3,4
FOC: Punky mentioned on the back only or in the inner spread as well?

The same info would be needed for GZ 100-2....

Matrix 1: K-69204-A-1 ALLEN (by hand)
vinyl: black
sides: 1,2,3,4
FOC: Punky's both on back and inner spread

looking at my picture references I assume 100-3 to be the "translucent red", so I guess 100-2 to be black. Further info needed indeed.
